Amelia (TW) says academic freedom is about research, not freedom of speech.

Amelia says it is outrageous and oppressive that the VC has launched disciplinary investigations just because people put on masks and exercised their democratic right to put up posters.

...Oh fuck off Jenny Chapman with your admiration for Amelia and their 'courage.'

So the BBC wanted to talk about women's rights, and talked to... A man.

They did this on woman's hour when they talked about woman's sports. They talked to... A man.

F***g BBC

Amelia mentioned this in a relation to a clause of a feminist declaration Kathleen Stock was a signatory of? I can't see that being the least bit true.

Amelia also made sure she shoehorned in mention of the LGBA as an "anti trans hate group".

One of the panel (Timandra Harkness) stood up for Stock and said she had been told by police not to turn up at any event she was scheduled to appear at, which is absolutely chilling. A Cambridge academic on the panel pretty much refused to touch the issue with a barge pole.

Surely you can’t just go making shit up like that?

So because they can't find anything Kathleen has actually said or done wrong, they're just completely making shit up...

Putting words into a woman's mouth and then attacking her for what they're pretending she's said. Absolute fucking bullies. Pathetic.

But it's contracted out to Capita so don't expect much.

What was the declaration Amelia was alluding to, and what did the clause really say?

I don't think I'll risk guessing Amelia's pronouns

The politicians - what a cop out.

We can't discuss this because we don't have a common language.

That the fucking point.

When one group insists on changing the meaning of words such as "woman" and "man" where can the discussion possibly go?

We just circle back to TWAW/TMAM precisely because there's been a deliberate effort to dismantle the very terms of reference by which a debate can be conducted - all on the basis of you will not offend me by using definitions of words I don't like/find offensive.

And Amelia - FFS. Wearing masks, posters with highly incendiary and threatening messages and targeted SM attacks against a specific individual goes well beyond a legal right to protest.

It's harassment, bullying and intimidation.

Wanting an intellectual "safe space" for Trans people cannot be legitimately bought at the expense of creating a physical safe space for someone with differing views on gender ideology.

Amelia argument came down to you can't discuss peoples identity, it's not like Brexit.

Well conversely I say I can discuss my identity as a woman and if you choose to co-opt that identity you don't get to stop me speaking out having made a conscious decision to hold this debate on my turf (pun intended).

People will be listening to that and thinking it sounds unhinged. Especially now the newspapers are reporting exactly what's been happening to professor stock.

(How about English?)

Exactly. That's one of the most indidious (and chilling) aspect of this ideology (and I use "ideology" in the neutral sense of "a system of ideas").
