Brendan O'Neill an ally? An ableist ally who uses his publication to disparage and gaslight people with Long Covid and people with ME (majority women and kids).

Brendan O'Neil may appear to support women - but other women and kids he throws under the bus. Women and kids with long term illness are the wrong kind of women and kids who exist on the wrong side of O'Neills survival of the fittest ideology.

It's not very often I've ever used the word rebarbative x2 in 10 minutes (another thread) but it's yet again wholly merited when describing both O'Neill and Fox.

I resent the thought that I must overlap with them in some areas (time of day, existence of gravity) but it's realistic that it must happen.

I have to recognise that O'Neill is a gifted polemicist. I'm still almost completely opposed to him but it would absurd for me to deny his skill and breadth of knowledge although I deplore the way he uses it and the causes that he services.

That. Good point, well made. Are women supposed to ask the male appendage owner how said appendage owner identifies before deciding whether or not they're allowed to safeguard themselves or be distressed? And predicate their boundaries entirely on a male person's personal choice of internal self realisation at that moment? Which places the male in really quite a stupendous position of superiority over the female patiently waiting to be told what they think and feel, but also assumes no male will ever lie.

Equally and absolutely true. Women web-wide are noting and naming men such as David Lammy as hypocritical beyond belief. Or apparently, since they are the same ones holding the "excuse me, can you tell me my pronouns and whether or not you're committing indecent assault on me?" views for women, possibly they don't think women are human enough to remember what they said yesterday or the day before.

I think Brendan O'Neil is brilliant and has been great on this issue. I dont agree with everything he says but thats normal and no reason to rubbish him.
So Spiked was Marxism today or whatever, I was in the Labour Party till a few days ago but that does not mean everyone of my opinions should be ignored?
