Think this is New York. Threatening passengers is a new low.

I hope it's fake, but experience would suggest otherwise

That is really sinister. If I don't conform to their version of how to show respect they will kill me?

#PrideTrain seem like a reasonable organisation with which one might sit down and have a chat about matters of contemporary social and political relevance. Hmm

Even if it is fake, Vancouver metro's official Twitter account apparently approves of the death threat.

tbh, I doubt it's authentic.

Seen in items about the history of #PrideTrain:

While Pride Train hasn’t gotten approval from the MTA to put up the posters, they think of the agency as a "silent (very silent) partner."

Pride Train is a guerrilla anti-bigotry campaign spearheaded by Thomas Shim, a global creative director at the advertising agency Y&R New York, and his friends.

It’s Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. No wonder Megan Murphy has had problems.

Sorry folks. The official retweet was Canada but the actual poster was in New York. Wish I could edit.

Confused
Who put up the sign? Did the NY transit authorities approve it?

As above, no - it's a guerrilla group that calls itself #PrideTrain - and I doubt it's actually one of their posters rather than a photoshop job.

Which is an unrelated issue to Vancouver Metro choosing to RT/like the image or whatever.

Apparently the poster was put up by a political group, not the NY Subway, but was retweeted by the subway/metro BC Canada Twitter account. Nice

If institutions hand policy over to a handful of activists then it's not surprising to see the menace of TRA hate bleeding over into their publicity materials.

The posters exist but they're not official. They are put up by trans activists in New York. Someone took a photo of one, and suggested that they would be great to have on public transport in Vancouver and tagged the British Columbia transport company's twitter in.

The person operating the twitter account agreed, and then the company hastily backtracked when they were told in very small words what they'd just endorsed.

It is unknown whether the person on duty didn't read the poster in the first place, or whether they did and didn't see an issue.

This is the British Columbia company's response

This is an article from 2018 about the activist group, presumably before they started putting threats up. www.them.us/story/pride-train-nyc-mta

Nice

And it's a pretty random threat. There's plenty of racism, ablism, misogyny etc that happens.

The sub note says it's about trans though. Not everyone?

And in a train situation. Who is likely to be an aggressive arsehole? Men. Obv.

But something tells me this is aimed at women. And it's a death threat let's be honest.

Yes I know it's not an official poster.

But the constant push against women, using threats, when men are the issue. I mean FFS. And the lack of interest in any other at risk groups.

They are so obvious! In the self interest and male behaviour.

I think we know that their level of interest in threatening men for sexually harassing women on public transport is zero.

I absolutely know that that is a more prevalent issue than women being aggressive to trans people on the subway.
