Because it's in Scotland,

Most of the panel are lying.

There's one bloke who is telling the truth.

Listening here too, and shouting at the radio! And the woman, lib dem I think, who wanted to have the last word to point out that look, all the women on the panel see no problem with it, and no conflict in rights, only the men! Speak for yourselves!! What is wrong with them?
I really really wanted Chris Mason to ask which rights trans people don't have. He didn't, of course...

Turned if off now too. If they can speak such rubbish so fluently on this, then why should I believe them or even listen to then on any other subject?
Not Scottish but I know it's the same here in Wales.

Warning: if you're gender critical and listen to this it might spoil your day. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000vjpg

A quick breakdown. The panel was Jackie Baillie (Lab), Murdo Fraser (Con), Christine Jardine MP (LibDem), Ivan McKee (SNP), Lorna Slater (Green).

Baillie and Jardine were TWAW robots. Slater was far worse. All of the women spoke solely about what trans people want and said nothing about what women want except in terms of what they themselves want or people who agree with them. McKee was surprisingly slightly off message and was in favour of a debate and a balance of people's views. Fraser got it. He said the essence of the current problem is self ID and was in favour of women having their say and their rights being respected.

Slater went as far is saying that the question was transphobic and anyone asking the question (ie the audience member calling in) is a transphobe. Her gotcha was that because some cleaners who clean women's toilet are male then anyone not giving trans people what they demand will cause these male cleaners to lose their jobs.

Slater's contributions made clear to me how many in the Greens are off-the-scale in terms of authoritarianism.

Other gotchas were that everyone has a gender neutral toilet at home and that the women on the panel were in favour of trans rights and the men were against. This wasn't actually true, McKee was toeing the line but saying there must be a balance of rights.

It was very bad tempered

Interesting the host Chris Mason said several times "but what about the conflict of rights?". He got an earful from the women for that.

The good thing is that thousands of people listen to Any Questions and they will have thought those women are bloody barking.

Earlier in the programme Slater had a go at the UK government for tackling the vaccine issue itself for the benefit of the population of the UK, and, so far, acting in a way that potentially has saved many lives. Apparently by selfishly acting in a way that didn't involve cooperation with the EU, this will have caused the deaths of many poor people globally.

I sincerely hope any political power she gets is as limited as possible.

So upsetting and frustrating. I wish I had the guts to phone in to Any Answers but sadly I don't 😥. The way any concerns were dismissed by the women as ridiculous and hateful really got to me tonight, the arrogance of thinking that their position was the only possible one! Ignoring the thousands of women out there who've actually thought about the issues for themselves and have a few legitimate questions!

I had a quick look on twitter. Mostly supporing the TWAW robot women and calling for Chris Mason to be brought to book for Deviationism.

Or do the many people who just don't think about this very deeply just trust what their preferred politicians say about any given matter, and leave it at that? I have recently (since the census) plucked up the courage to talk to a work colleague about this. We have plenty in common about the perception of gender. Yesterday I explained that the non-defence of women's rights was directly informing how I was going to vote, and I explained a little about Stonewall, pushing self ID, the fact that most transwomen make few physical changes to their body etc. She literally had NO IDEA. This is an intelligent middle aged woman who would most certainly consider herself a femminist and thinks gender is nonsense. I really hope what I said made her think (not just think I'm crazy and intolerant!)

they will have thought those women are bloody barking I really, really hope this is true!!

Slater did not come over well, at any point.

The question was simply what is a woman and no one bothered with it not even the presenter.
Murdo had a go at explaining that men are already in the female estate in prisons but was shouted down.

I am in bed with the conservatives increasingly, what a time to be alive.

I saw this tweet which I thought sums up the TRA position quite well:

I will have to review the recording but it seemed to me as though the chair introduced the concept of trans people and women's rights bing in a "balance." If so I would take that as being the view of the BBC and in accordance with its anti-trans position of late. #bbcaq

A useful clarification FlibbertyGiblets! In the programme running time, the question appears at 33:45. Asked by a grumpy sounding bloke referring specifically to the Gender Representation on Public Boards Act.

That is a bit interesting, ItsAll. Remembering how the SNP loudly bang on about TWAW, but in the vote at ScotParl (Johann Lamont's, 'sex not gender' one, for forensic examiners) the SNP voted for sex not gender, because it was clearly going to be a bad look to go against women's rights so baldly. Leaving the Greens to carry the can.

I was horrified at the green woman. So authoritarian and intolerant. No questioning of TWAW allowed. Really aggressive about it. The greens are meant to be all fluffy and cooperative and they really really aren't on this issue.
