Chalkback project highlighting harassment of women

Just learnt of this from someone in Edinburgh where it is apparently working well and it's in some other cities too. The idea is you contact the city's branch with the location of where you were harassed and what was said and one of their volunteers goes and chalks the words onto that location. They take photos to document it too. Such a simple but effective idea to highlight how pervasive harassment is, especially where some sites are collecting several writings, and a lot are from school girls too.

Reading those Instagram photos was difficult, because I believe every single one and it shows how often it happens.

A really good idea, it should be nationwide.

Yes I know what you mean, they ring very true. And seeing it written down, just how could anyone think those comments are ok?
That said I bet there will be men scratching their heads on reading them and wondering what the problem is.

I've seen a couple of these in my local area in London.

Us lot on mumsnet must cover the whole of the UK between us and there is a section on how to set it up in your own city.

Hmmm. Something to think about.
