So I asked my mate’s very woke daughter about how she felt about a trans woman being in the female toilets? She responded that she wouldn’t be bothered at all. Live and let live, an’ all that. Hmmm, so I asked how would she feel if the same trans woman showered in the open plan gym changing area, with their penis fully on show.
She obviously wasn’t impressed with that scenario, so I asked how there can be one rule for one single sex area and one rule for another. She couldn’t answer.
The daughter is a very keen amateur cyclist, I asked if she thought that trans women could compete in women only categories. Absolutely wasn’t happy about that!
I then showed her the British Cycling trans policy! Particularly ~
Accept all Participants in the gender they present; verification of their identity should be no more than expected of any other person
Support the Transgender or Non-Binary Participant with their choice of changing facilities
Well, the scales fell from her eyes, well and truly!
She is now actively sharing the British Cycling Transgender Consultation . I feel we are slowly slowly getting there!!

That's really awesome BrizzleGirl. I like how you patiently walked her through the scenarios and got her to think things through. There is a very emotive, knee jerk element in the superficial "be kind" stance, but once people are allowed time to think through the consequences of gender ideology, most end up horrified and concerned. You did well.
