Sport Scotland is required to publish new Equality Outcomes by the end of April and your views can help shape these outcomes for 2021-2025.

They would like to hear from as many people as possible with a variety of life and personal experiences, so we kindly ask that you complete this survey to help sportscotland develop outcomes that will make a real difference to people’s experiences of sport.

You will see that they ask specifically about 4 groups

Those in poverty / on low income
People with mental health problems
Ethnic minorities
Over 50s

However there is a space at the end to comment if you feel they have missed out any groups

The rest of the survey is very quick to complete, just boxes to tick.

Thanks. Good, clear and straightforward survey with free text boxes and space at the end to bring up any 'other' groups.

Why are women always 'other'?

It also asked about sex rather than gender which was nice
But unfortunately I can see this being flooded by certain organised interested parties, skewing the results

You know @Usagi12, it tool me ages trying to work out what tiny minority unimportant group hade been left out. One that’s 51% of the population.

I can see why Sport Scotland wouldn’t consider then important.

I’m sure you’re right - just an unfortunate oversight.

Oh look, all the senior management team at Sport Scotland are all white men. I’m sure that’s a coincidence too.

Thanks OP, this was my answer to the final question.

"I think that sports governing bodies, need to look at categorising all sports by "sex" rather than "gender". At the moment, we are seeing an emergence of trans women athletes competing in women's sport and in some cases dominating them. Examples of this include Rachel McKinnon - track cycling, Laurel Hubbard - weightlifting, Hannah Mouncey - handball, Maxine Blythin - cricket, Kate Weatherley - downhill mountain biking.
Sports are categorised by "sex" for very good physiological reasons, which cannot be later negated by simply lowering testosterone levels. A male who goes through puberty, will have the following physical advantages over a female - higher muscle density/less fat, longer/stronger/denser bones, larger heart and lungs, more oxygen carrying red blood cells, leading to a more efficient cardio vascular system.
The proof of this of course, is to simply compare the World records in various sports and look at the different performances by males and females. To give you a few examples, more than 12,000 men have run faster than the women's marathon record, 15 year old boys can run faster than the women's 100m record. The US women's football team (World champions) were beaten by an U15 boy's college team."

Don't worry, I had been for a lovely two hour walk in the early Spring sun with my lovely DW, so my blood pressure was fairly low.
I have saved it as a Word document, so that I can re-use it as and when required.

I did try to be inclusive and say that I was against adults self identifying into children’s sports and trans able people being able to self identify into competitive disabled sport.

And that adults should have to compete in their own age and sex group. Otherwise their aim of increasing participation in the over 50s will be jeopardised by 25 year olds who feel a bit hung over / overweight and therefore identify as 58.

I've just done it and answered every question with , well women in poverty/women with MH issues etc etc. Just to make more of a point.

YY. I was resisting the urge to point out there were more men called Mike than women.

Such a shame to have so little diversity when there’s a least some women ( the old fashioned kind ) on the Board.
