Stonewall at it again. Domestic Violence Bill

Hope this isn't repetition. I had a look but couldn't see it another thread.

On the Sex Matters website. Stonewall trying to make the Domestic Violence bill gender neutral.

I thought fair enough. Domestic Violence can be committed by both sexes towards both sexes, but it looks like it is more about making misogyny gender neutral and linked in with the hate crime stuff that is currently going on. Maybe in anticipation of misogyny being added as a hate crime in the UK, where it failed to happen in Scotland?

#DARVOAmendment87B

More obfuscation by stealth. I think there are some actions suggested.

Thank you for posting. I did see a tweet in a thread yesterday where a Baroness was “onto” this and would be speaking against this amendment. Sorry I can’t remember which thread it was on.

I’ve had the email this evening from Sex Matters and tweeted as requested.

We definitely need to keep this thread up there so as many people see it as possible.

Maybe Claire Fox? I know she was down to speak.

Apparently Baroness Nicholson can't be there, but Claire Fox is going to raise the same concerns.

This point about domestic violence being gender neutral was raised by Johann Lamont when the Hate Crime bill was being discussed in Scotland. She said Scotland's Domestic Violence bill is gender neutral, and it's apparently 'gold standard' and widely praised.

I will see if I can find more info on it.

Thanks for posting this OP.
Definitely sounds like Stonewall are using their well-trodden path to not be visible when a bill is being debated.

Have they even looked up the dictionary definition for misogyny.
It's hatred or contempt or prejudice against girls and women.

Thank you, yes it was Claire Fox who will be speaking in the Lords.

I’m not sure how the Lords can insist the word woman is left out of this bill when last week they were insisting it was put into the Maternity bill.

Sadly (speaking an an ex Stonewall supporter) it has become glaringly evident that whenever Stonewall are near any policy or legislation, women end up worse off. Quite unbelievable that an organisation should be so dedicated to removing women's rights, especially in terms of safety, but here we are.

Stonewall officer Lord Cashman has put himself down to speak on the Bill in the House of Lords today Monday 15th March 2pm

As Maya says this guidance is the only place where male perpetrators and female victims will be addressed and the Stonewall amendment is designed to erase female people – women – as a class - in law.

Redirecting police resources away from the straightforward task of recording male violence against women to "perceptions of hostility related to gender”

One strength of the Stonewall gender ideology is that it has some of the character of a religion and inspires the emotions of a religion.

@FindTheTruth
At least some religions can be questioned or debated, however heated that becomes.

The gender idealogy approach feels more akin to cult behaviour. You can't question anything and you are punished through threats, bullying (in real life, through SM, online platforms), your employer and loved ones are targeting.

Last minute is the way of Stonewall Law. We are wise to that now, so all eyes on everything to do with women. Stella has been in discussions with Stonewall for some time and will just keep on with this. I hope, really hope that eyes are opening and I think they may be. The fact that the government ensure the majority of abuse against women will be in that law (hopefully changes by Stonewall will be headed off at the pass)

The timing couldn't be worse. They really have no shame.

CaveMum · 15/03/2021 09:57

I’m hoping that the timing will blow up in their face. We don’t want to politicise a tragedy but someone needs to say something along the lines of “In a week when violence against women has dominated the headlines, it is insensitive, to say the least, that an amendment proposing the removal of the word “women” has been tabled.”
