Thank you, that is very interesting. Quite a few issues in the uk already.

I’m not really looking forward to going out a and about after lockdown. I generally need the loo when I’m out and I don’t know how I would react if I saw a man in the ladies.

I will be escorting my daughters to the loo now I understand quite how many men are determined to access the female only spaces.

I'm getting a 'Server Not Found' message for that link. Anyone else?

It works for me, how odd.

I think it would be great to keep track of all incidents. What is lacking badly in this debate is data. If no data is collected, it is very hard to argue one thing or the other.

I'm getting a privacy alert for that link .
I hope it's not the start of another hack resulting in a DDOS on MNHQ's server .

I think it may be. It must be scaring people. The founders of the page is collecting stories about horrors occurring in single sex spaces due to self ID.

There are several thought provoking stories there already and the web page is new. If there is an attach, I speculate that it is due to some people really not want this data collected.

I can access the site fine, but it is Australian/moderated in Australia, so that could be something to do with access issues? (I am no tech expert).

I can see it OK. I note a worrying trend of targeting women only AA groups

I could access it with no problem.
It looks great, and very necessary.
Didn't there used to be a website called 'this never happened' which collated unpleasant bathroom/changing room incidents, along with information about repeat offending behaviours?

I didn't see how it could be that but I checked to see if I could access //www.theaustralian.com.au and funnily enough I can't, so it's probably some weird glitch my side.

I can reach //www.abc.net.au - while I was checking that I came across this article about the oldest-known Australian rock paintings and I'm pretty sure the one of the human figure disproves the idea that colonialists invented biological sex.

But this isnt real data. There is no verification that these incidents occurred. Anyone could put anything that suits their agenda on. It may have a place for sharing experiences but please dont confuse it with being data.

@helpfulperson , yes , it is not 'data' but OP has signposted us to a site where women can safely share stories of incidents where they have encountered biological males in women's spaces and have had distressing experiences .
Many women and girls will have been too frightened , embarrassed or unsure of the law to make an official report or complaint .
It is sadly now the case that we must collate these stories and offer them up as evidence of our needs for sex-based rights and spaces.
One girl , or woman , assaulted or abused in these places is one too many .

This applies to many of the TRA data sources, too. Do you agree that they are similarly unreliable? I think experiential evidence has its place.

If women report these incidents to the police they are at best reported as women’s crimes.

If women post these incidents on social media they are at best accused of “weaponising their experiences” at worst threatened with “girl dick rape”.

This is a non-optimal way of gathering information about what is going on.

But it's not really evidence is it? It's not the same as a targeted survey or whatever you think is the TRA equivalent. For all we know every post on there could be by the same person - and you may think gender critical activists are above such behaviour, I'm not inclined to agree, but there are certainly overtly transphobic forces who would quite happily fill websites like this with misinformation safe in the knowledge that these will soon become undisputed gender critical 'facts'.

jj you expect people to put their names against their testimonies knowing how TRAs carry on. This is the only way they have of reporting this stuff. You've made sure of it. As for 'overtly transphobic forces', where? I have never seen any. Only you label anyone with questions about gender ideology 'transphobic'. Is their anything in those stories that is transphobic? No. So why can't these people just tell their stories? You know damn well why.

That's a bizarre article in the Guardian. I couldn't work out what it was trying to say. It seems to be about right wing religious people who are anti-women and anti-gay. But one thing I'm sure of is that there's nothing about transphobia in there (unless you count the 'T' that's been tacked on to LGB).

['Gender ideology'] is a theory drummed up by hard-right religious activists, who present it as a gay- and feminist-led movement out to upend the traditional family and the natural order of society. It’s a catchall phrase to sell a false narrative and justify discrimination against women and LGBT people.

When we talk about 'gender ideology' on here, it's about something which is anti-gay and anti-feminist, so not the same thing as they are talking about in that article. Just because the same words are used, don't assume it's the same thing.

Jj, that link isn’t about transphobia. The writer says rightwingers use the term ‘gender ideology’ — in a hostile sense — to mean feminism and LGBT rights. It specifically mentions abortion, gender violence (ie violence against women), and gay marriage.

This is standard misogyny. Those rightwingers may also oppose transgenderism. But apart from the routine linking of LGB and T, there is nothing about it in the article. Homophobia, on the other hand, prefers people to ‘change sex’ rather than admit to same-sex attraction.

They are obsessed with opposing queer theory and burn effigies of Judith Butler, I think it's pretty safe to say they oppose trans people www.insidehighered.com/news/2017/11/13/judith-butler-discusses-being-burned-effigy-and-protested-brazil

Both Nick Griffin and Tommy Robinson have turned their attention to trans people in the last couple of years, the Evangelical movement is obsessed with us and a book has just been published accusing trans people of being the frontline of a global Jewish conspiracy. There are plenty of organised anti trans factions who would welcome any opportunity to sow disinformation.

Leave it to a trans activist to come on a thread about something related to women and make it all about trans people. It's actually quite a talent.

I think you'll find, like most threads on this forum, this thread is also about trans people so I don't understand why you think trans voices should be silenced in this discussion.

The trouble with this as others have pointed out

Is that it's ripe for exploitation.

A person posts an extreme incident that can be proven not to have be happened.

Voila. It's all lies.

Same as how posters come on here, post shit and screenshot it and say this is what MN users think.

This is the ongoing problem women have. Reporting stuff (loads of sorts of stuff) to authorities doesn't help.

When we do it anon. Everyone can say well anyone could have made anything up. I don't believe any of it.

See metoo on Twitter for that.

We're not believed when we report as ourselves or anonymously.

That site. will get trolled to shit.

This is where we always end up.

I'm sorry. That's how I feel.

Just for reference before I go to bed, here's Tommy Robinson giving a speech against trans people recently, you'll no doubt be familiar with many of his talking points www.bitchute.com/video/DaWZLKZmeBwQ/

I believe Harry Miller is speaking at the next Heart of Oak conference.

jj so all those women's experiences are absolutely fine with you. It's ok to treat women this way? And they are either liars or transphobes for reporting these stories?
You really are a sacred caste.
