Not sure why he's started down this route
Oh dear. He's one of those comedians that I have never found funny. Not a single thing he has ever said has sparked even a smile from me - and I frequently embarrass myself by hooting with laughter at WILTY. I wonder how long it will be before he has female pronouns and is running for a seat in Parliament?
Errrr what?!

This is a bit of a leap.
He's done a comedy show on drag with another comedian. Probably taking the piss out of it. He's hardly going to come out as trans.

I can wait...
Do you remember when Eddie Izzard said that he was a lesbian in a man's body for a joke? That is what I am referring to.
They might well get cancelled for this...
Yes, I thought you were joking growinggreyer
Only women get cancelled unfortunately.

I've seen some of the episodes and they take the piss out of everything and each other, will be interesting to see how they approach this one.
I need to remember to use the emoji. I have recently learned to finish my texts with xx rather than a full stop, so I can learn.

Argh,
@growinggreyer sorry if I misunderstood, not sure I understand what you mean still! Do you think Romesh may come out as trans in the same way that Eddie izzard did ?
I have a very dry sense of humour. I mean it as a joke but I expect that I will live long enough to see how this story plays out. Maybe he is just playing around and it is all good fun. Maybe he has other motivations. Who can tell what is in anyone's head?
You've entirely missed the point of this instagram picture.
It's from a TV series where he and Rob Beckett try and have a go at various things - different sports like cricket and golf, different cultural things, like art and ballet and now different 'popular' cultural things, like fashion and drag.
He's not doing 'womanface' in the sense that you think you mean.
That is pretty bizarre! What were they thinking?!
Crikey

But why do this at all? It’s offensive to women. Why not stick with being cricketers or snooker players or whatever. Why dress up like this with fake tits and thighs. It’s bonkers
This is part of a tv show where they try out different things & experiences
He’s not coming out as trans
The far more interesting thing will be how he & Rob reacts to the whole scene. I very much doubt there will be anything even vaguely critical allowed
And I like romesh a lot. I love his travel shows and I enjoy his humour

You might well ask why do anything? I haven't seen this programme but I assume from the context it wasn't politely deferential to cricketers and snooker players. I assume this episode won't be politely deferential to drag queens.
Making fun of drag queens, which is what it looks like isn't "offensive to women"
I assume they'll be bemused, mildly self conscious and have some comedy moments trying to walk in heels and trying on the boobs.
I remember the days when humour was just that. Anyone remember Bernard Manning? What an awful person but he was never cancelled and he did more for women's rights by being so offensive than anyone I've heard from since. People just walked out of his shows if they were offended and lots of us women went along to heckle and then get removed. It was great fun
I love Romesh, he knows how to laugh at himself and I can't wait to see him try drag
Hm. This man always struck me as seethingly bitter and angry underneath the (fairly unfunny) humour. Can't put my finger on it, but I'd actually be uncomfortable to meet him in real life. Perhaps that's unfair.

Oh I like him! I like his shows and although his humour is a bit self deprecating and moany, he laughs a lot and seems to be having a nice time.
