Police & crime commissioner elections

Just seen who the candidates for police and crime commissioner are in our area and they're peas in a pod! Ok so different political parties but all white males, of a certain age, who have had careers as police officers, the pinnacle of which was 'middle management'. Can't see the electorate being galvanised.
