I saw this.

Is it standard male behaviour to leave the door open when using the toilet? Or is this purely exhibitionist or just ‘in ya face’ behaviour?

I asked my dad about this when there was an article in one of the Scottish papers a couple of years ago about a female jouralist walking in on men pissing leaving the doors open in mixed sex cubicles.

And yes, apparently if you're a man using a cubicle for a wee then it's standard to leave the door open. Nice.

He didn't like the idea of mixed sex provision anyway, but he agreed it was unlikely many if his fellow males would see any reason to change their behaviour when using them.

Most will just be the usual male privilege if thoughtlessness, but there will be a sprinkling of perves as well to go with the piss on the floor.

He's completely correct, though. There is no way to tell him he's not transgender.

Agree that men leave door open to pee is standard, according to my partner.

In the days when we used to go to bars i was out
The toilets were a long way from the bar. 4 cubicles in a row 2 marked male and 2 female with sinks opposite
The men used them all and with the doors open. By the end of the night it was all very unpleasant. I don't see men use the sinks

But do women use the loos with the door open? Hmmmm? What is this person trying to say?

Apparently so. In the Home Office of all places.

‘Gender Neutral’ toilets to ‘ensure all staff feel comfortable’ - except the women obvs.

I wonder if they have been forced to change it back?

I think it’s the department of trade that has gender neutral loos (I walk past the offices and the loos are opposite a glass wall so you can see in). 😡

I used to work cleaning office buildings. I complained to my DH and DDad about men peeing with the doors open whilst I was in there to clean the sinks or whatever. They said they’d never seen guys doing that and it was probably intentional because I was in there.

Have seen this in mixed sex loos with single unit cubicles complete with sink - which should be fine for privacy for all, but some random bloke peeing with the door wide open.

Resisted the urge to inform him that I was sure he had a very lovely penis, but he needed to put it away.

This is one of the many, many reasons female people need the right to space where male people aren't busily maleling without even the basic awareness of what female people may experience of them. The world does not revolve around the penis people. Regardless of what they think.

Sadly, I think there is some benefit to dickheads doing stunts like this now, while it might wake people up, rather than once it becomes perfectly legal everywhere.

If that organisation doesn't apply an EA exemption so that it's toilets are single sex (a la Marks and Spencer) then it had no basis to exclude him.

Went to a restraunt in the very short window we were allowed to...which had mixed sex loos. Womens on one side mens on the other all self enclosed units that opened out onto a communal waiting area .

When I took the dds, because at 10 amd 14 they are plenty old enough to go themselves it was only because I needed to go that I went with them and discovered it was tbrough a door in a badly lit area up two flights of stairs and mixed sex...

Well two men in the space of a few mins didn't lock the door and had someone push the door in on them. Had dd been in the loo opposite as opposed to the one on the end shed have got an eyeful coming out at that moment.

They dont lock the doors

Cliffs of Moher visitor centre made their toilets unisex or whatever they call it (I think they just took down the wall between the ladies and gents). While queuing up in there people are treated to views of men using toilets whilst leaving the cubicle doors open. It's disgusting. The mixed facilities and the open doors, both horrific. Must have been August 2018 last time I was there, and even when we're allowed to travel again, I'd hesitate to go back.

That's the point he's making but given his age and behaviour it's probably more about showing off and ego.

MichelleofzeResistance

I agree. Many do think the world revolves around their phallus.

Incidentally, I came across a conversation on twitter the other day where penis people were stating how transphobic the term penis person is. They were applauding the use of sperm producer however. So transpeople think ‘penis people’ is problematic.... so why are we forced to accept all the dehumanizing labels for women? Just more hypocrisy really.

It doesn't matter whether it's genuine or being done to prove a point because it's a valid point.

I was in a shop toilet with DC and a teenage male - definitely male as his voice had broken - who probably considered himself trans or nb came in with a teenage girl. I didn't feel threatened but it was confusing for DC. Had I been alone I would have said something about it being inappropriate.

In an open swimming pool changing room just before closing I was the only person there when a young woman and her male friend came in. Again, he seemed relatively harmless - gay or gnc - but this is the way things are going meaning people feel they can do what they want. The showers are open in that changing room too. I usually get completely naked in the shower and I don't get too worried about covering up when I'm changing but what I wasn't that kind of person? I couldn't find anyone to speak to about it on my way out. I should have said something to the girl and her friend but I was in a hurry and not in the mood for a confrontation.

But this is clearly a set up, it's not an actual trans person

Who are you to say they aren't trabs though.

Anyone who says they are trans is trans.

We don't get to gate keep thats the point.

I’m the olden days that pee-er and their ninny side I o would have been bundled out and banned. Now the woman complaining would have that treatment and 2 dimwits would have grovelling apologies and drinks on the house.

Yes, I'd like to know how you can tell an actual trans person from a non-trans person, please.

Exactly. It could be someone who is like Drummond just wearing jeans that day.

It is very difficult with teenagers, as so many transboys may come in with their female friends. And female friends may think it wonderfully funny for their male friends to ‘shock’ others by bringing them into the toilets . You could interpret this video to fit that scenario.
