Well obviously no. It's unbelievable to me that this could even be a question. Heather's response is perfect.

How fucking ridiculous that this has been posed. What is wrong with people?

Only if we want the whole population to have 10% lower IQ!

A childlike body and a child's mind in a person who is technically an adult. What sort of person would see this as a positive result?

I think we all know the answer to that.

Yep. Extremely chilling.

I was listening to a podcast recently about lobotomies, how common they were when first practiced and seemed like the be all and end all for so many conditions. People would be profoundly injured and the answer would be a second surgery! It was used to treat anything from what would now be seen as ASD and the like to depression to normal pubertal rebellion.

I see so many parallels, the fallout with be huge.

Of course not, don't be daft. There are approximately 12.5 million under 18's in the UK at any one time. Over the last five years around 10,000 were referred for assessment at GIDS. Of those ten thousand, a few hundred went on to have a medical intervention. Imagine being one of a few who wanted to stop progress.

Progress? I think you are a bit behind the times.

a few hundred went on to have a medical intervention.

At least 300 children have been put on puberty blockers by the Tavistock alone. Then add all the children in Scotland, the USA, Australia, the Netherlands etc and it will be thousands. Thousands of children who have not been adequately consented for experimental treatments that will have left them permanently harmed physically and without benefit to their mental health.

For reference, the Bristol heart scandal affected 170 children.

Imagine being one of the few cheering this pathway.

We'll never know how many children were put on these drugs. If they dropped out of the clinic there was no follow up. If they changed their names or area there is no way to trace them.

This is worryingly similar to what happened with the mesh crisis in women. We didn't know who had what implant. We didn't know what happened long term.

Plus all the children who have gone through GenderGP. We have absolutely no idea how many children have been affected.

Well, at least there are financial records for those kids, ROGDmum. That's one way of figuring out some stats I suppose.

Hope things are ok in your house. this is all such a mess, I really feel for the kids who thought they could do one thing and now have to get their head around that thing is an unsafe thing. Hard to parent.

It must be really scary for families who have been dependent on mermaids etc who are now told the 'treatment' they're pursuing isn't available and that this will make their child suicidal. Presumably there's no big roll out of MH support for those children, so they are left with no treatment, no support, and psychopaths telling them that they're doomed.

Should all children be on puberty blockers?

Why, yes, yes they should. Puberty is a non-consensual process that can cause untold damage to the individuals body. It should not be allowed to occur until the individual has made an informed decision about their gender identity and has confirmed whether or not their gender coercively assigned at birth is correct...

I believe that is the argument, @ItsAllGoingToBeFine

I'd like to think no one would be stupid enough to argue for this, but I know better now.

The negatives are never discussed. Never mentioned in articles like Ben Hunte’s. Not in the Sydney Morning Herald. Not in Pink News. Not on Twitter. Not by certain posters here. There is never a single acknowledgment of the harm PBs and CSH cause. Even if someone was to argue the pros and cons I would have a bit more respect, but there isn’t even acknowledgment of the cons.

It’s sickening really. Complete disregard for the long term future health of these children when they’re adults.
