Not surprising. My mother reported her attacked multiple times, and got various excuses from 'we can't do anything until he does something' (when it was threats)', 'its your word against his, and 'he says you hit him first'...finally, he was prosecuted though, after he hit the MAN my mother had there regularly as she was scared in her own home Hard to have much faith after seeing that nonsense at 15 tbh.
Yes, I read this. I know it isn't "top trumps" /" numbers game" about who suffers more. And I am desperately sad about the idea that someone is killed for not conforming to what is expected of their sex. Yesterday's Transgender Remembrance Day. But this is a huge number and it isn't going away and we still need to ensure that murderous bastards don't get access to women's safe spaces.

This makes me think of Shana Grice who complained to police about her ex-boyfriend 5 times before he murdered her. They even fined her for wasting police time. There seemed to be completely inadequate internal procedures, coupled with an instinct to disbelieve her:
