The Canadian company encouraging parents to trans their children

Rubies rubyshines.com/

Rubies produce clothing for 'trans girls who want to shine'. One of their most promoted products is this bikini bottom: 'If your little rockstar is looking for a nice front view, this no-nonsense bikini bottom will give her support in all the right places.  It magically turns a pointy poker into a dainty dune.  No tucking required.'

Available from age 4, they'll send you a free pair if you can't afford to buy one. So many satisfied customers, including a mum whose four year old twins are thrilled with theirs! Gives their children a confidence boost, helps them hide their unwanted parts.

Why aren't these people being investigated for child abuse?

The company was founded by a bloke called Jamie who has named it after his son who identifies as a girl. Ruby is 11

It's a child promoting it and talking about the product in the video on the website as well.

'Helps them hide their unwanted parts....' at 4 years old?

FFS.

I mean, pink text on a lime green background is bad enough, without telling young boys that any part of their healthy body is 'unwanted' or needs to be somehow disguised or hidden. Poor bloody kids.

Poor kids, or should I say Kiddos. 'Queer' parents always seem to have Kiddos rather than kids

HecatesCats · 20/11/2020 09:48

Bloody hell. The comments! These poor kids:

"This is a wonderful product! My daughter can spend time at the beach or pool without being concerned that she is showing too many lumps and bumps. It has given her confidence and is wonderful to see!!!"

Twins:

"My twin four year old girls first trip to the beach was a success when they could wear what made them feel happy without feeling self-conscious that their privates would be exposed. The swimsuit bottoms were a perfect fit... The only area of improvement the twins suggested was glitter, pink, sequences, ponies, and rainbows"

Surely that has to be a parody...Confused

It does read like that Errol. There are pages of 'parent' comments.

That's horrific.

I'd like to think the whole thing is a parody but I fear it isn't.

The only positive is that I get a 404 error clicking through to the school program (sic) link.

I always wanted to visit Canada but I am deeply disturbed at the direction their 'liberal' culture has taken.

What the fuck is a 'dainty dune'? I agog at this?

I fell down a bit of a rabbit hole earlier as the website also links to an Instagram page and then on the Instagram is public links to other families who 'love' this product...

So... someone has 4-year-old twin trans daughters that want to wear bikinis on the beach and are bothered by their penises? Am I getting this right? Confused

It seems so. And of course the opposite is true in the case of 'packers' I think they're called, for toddlers and little kids.

There was a company that was the subject of a thread on here last year, which made little fake penises for girls to put in their pants to mimic male genitalia. Many of the penises looked very adult indeed, just scaled down.

And again, the comments were all gushing.

It's utterly sick. But, adheres to the ideology, of course. If you are 'born' in the wrong body there is no lower age limit.

4 year old kids should not be concerned by any of their 'lumps and bumps'. It just should not be a thing that they are worried about. They should not feel self conscious about their bodies. They should not be told that their bodies need special clothing to be acceptable. They should not be sold special equipment to hide or alter their bodies, especially their genitalia.

Leave childrens' bodies alone, fgs. Let them wear whatever they please, reassure them that there is nothing wrong with having any body part or configuration of genitalia. Please.

My son, when small, was very alarmed, concerned and worried about a large-ish birthmark. I spent time reassuring him that it was a fine thing, nothing to worry about. We discussed it and I listened to his fears. At no point did the idea of altering his body to assuage his anxiety even occur to me. My first call wasn't camouflage make up or surgery.

I can't really say what I think of the people selling these products, can I?

What the actual fucking fuck is this?! I can’t believe I am still shocked. How are we ever going to row back from this complete madness.

Spot on Arabella. 4 year old kids shouldn't have to worry about any of this. The adults in their lives help explain the world and help them to navigate it, they're literally translators, if you see the world through a lense as screwed up as this what hope have those kids got?

You know what, I am very cynical. And I like background.

That reviewer has an unusual name, so I had a quick search "+ twins" and found an article with someone of the same name talking about her extreme childhood trauma.

I have no idea if this is the same person but it seems plausible. And I would strong suggest that her awful (truly, painfully awful) childhood experiences may well have resulted in this behaviour.

Now, how many other people are doing the same? And how many people are going along with it because to even question mildly results in a triggered response?

Thanks, I'll just be over in the corner quietly vomiting and trying not to think to much about what id on the creators hard drive.

I know we're not supposed to kink shame these days but I draw a hard line at paedophilia.

Not sure what point you're trying to make here.

Are you saying that we should ignore child abuse in our own country or in other countries with a 'liberal' culture because people in some other countries have it worse?

I'm concerned about the motivations of someone who would take that view.

What child is at the beach concerned with how their genitalia's outline in their swimsuit looks to others? If this thought is IN a child's mind, I would be very, very concerned as to who may be harming that child.

SophocIestheFox · 20/11/2020 18:04

Bloody hell.

That’s just...fucking hell, what IS that site? It reminds me of those horrrific toddler “packers” that we discussed on here a while back, too.

The first thought that comes to my head about a child feeling distress over their genitals isnt that they’re trans, it’s that they’ve been abused.

And if other people are commenting on or noticing your child’s genitals then YOU STOP BEING AROUND THOSE PEOPLE! You don’t help your child conceal their genitals. Fucking hell. I want to believe all those glowing reviews are false, I really do.

To be clear: if adults want to wear these things: crack on, knock yourself out. But This is aimed at children, from age four. Gender non conforming children, who are possibly already additionally vulnerable over and above an ordinary child are being made more vulnerable by being encouraged to find their own genitals unacceptable. How does this help?
