They are getting absolutely hammered on Twitter 😂

My favourite pair of tweets was “The Old Adult Human Female of Threadneedle Street”, followed by “you forgot cis”.

ErrolTheDragon Tue 17-Nov-20 00:08:02

Are you. by the way, now to be known as "The Senior Cervix-Haver of Threadneedle Street" That has a fashionable ring of lunacy to it, don't you think?

It's transgender awareness week? Can we not have one day off? Please!

fatblackcatspaw Tue 17-Nov-20 00:20:02

every day is transgender awareness week... never in a million years will you be allowed a day off

PotholeParadies Tue 17-Nov-20 00:41:53

Well, if it's official awareness week then I suppose they have to, as a public institution.

I'm sure they observe all the awareness weeks, because they wouldn't want to risk favouritism.

CircleofWillis Tue 17-Nov-20 00:43:47

Those dogs! I want my own jack russell pug cross that sits like on old man.

ErrolTheDragon Tue 17-Nov-20 00:48:07

Yes, they'd better be doing something for the other Awareness's of this week (well, the U.K. ones at least).

Mad Cat Lady Awareness Week?

PotholeParadies Tue 17-Nov-20 01:47:37

What did they do for Pride? Anyone know?

Whatsnewpussyhat Tue 17-Nov-20 02:09:16

It's really great to see the replies though. People are waking up and catching on.

Redshoeblueshoe Tue 17-Nov-20 09:54:55

As a Bank surely they know above all else to follow the money 💰

AbsintheFriends Tue 17-Nov-20 10:01:03

Nice if the young bluehairs feel supported. However, I suspect this more about all the Pips Bunce types in the city.

BlackForestCake Tue 17-Nov-20 10:57:43

So oppressed and marginalised.

PurpleHoodie Tue 17-Nov-20 10:58:35

Exactly what Absinthe said.

MissAHannigan Tue 17-Nov-20 11:00:55

Is there a pips in the BoE by any chance?

helloxhristmas Tue 17-Nov-20 11:05:26

Is transgender awareness week why Fisherpeople came out on BBC this morning?

MichelleofzeResistance Tue 17-Nov-20 11:45:28

It was on the Google page yesterday and unfortunately my first thought was argh, can't we have a week OFF.... that would be a much rarer thing.

There's such obliviousness to the fact that when things are rammed down people's throats and up their noses relentlessly all the time people shift from neutral where awareness raising may help to exasperatedly fed up with it all and switching off at the sight of it. There's no understanding of how people work at all.

BettyDuKeiraBellisMyShero Tue 17-Nov-20 11:48:25

Hilarious. Wonder how the anticapitalist anarchist section of transactivism are spinning this? grin

ErrolTheDragon Tue 17-Nov-20 12:04:12

When I looked at the twitter last night the word 'elite' was cropping up a fair bit.

Awareness that trans activism has influential moneyed friends ...

yourhairiswinterfire Tue 17-Nov-20 12:15:17

The middle just looks like a lilac block of colour, and the ends are dark blue. I wouldn't have recognised that as the transgender flag at all. What shoddy virtue signalling.

Surely Stonewall could have slipped some of their £££ to their champions to buy some decent lights.

ErrolTheDragon Tue 17-Nov-20 12:28:32

They should have interspersed the blue and pink with white lights. I hope they bear that in mind when they do a violet, white and green one .... oh bugger, they missed Equal Pay Day on Nov 14th, didn't they? Surely that's an event more relevant to a bank - the disparity in remuneration caused by structural sexism and discrimination against women.

youvegottenminuteslynn Tue 17-Nov-20 13:07:48

Those lights are so stunning and brave.

Guess equal pay day wasn't important enough as it only directly negatively affects half of the population.
