I've just seen this on Twitter. That'll be even more lost readers then. Not that I'm one of their readers.

Just seen this. I can’t imagine what it has been like for her writing for that rag over the last year or so. It must have been hellish.

I always forget who's who, I can't stand the Guardian.
So, is Suzanne Moor a good one out of all the shit ones or is she a shit one herself?

Sounds like she may have been pushed going by Hadley's response. Hope someone else snaps her up.

Suzanne Moore is an exceptional columnist and a woman of integrity, unlike the 'journalists' who've been trying to oust her for talking about women's rights.

More power to your elbow Suzanne.

I am sure that Suzanne Moore - unlike The Guardian - will be fine. But it must still be a wrench and, judging by that tweet, not entirely her own choice, soThanks and Wineand thanks for speaking up for women and girls.

Looking forward to hearing the full story too although no doubt there's a non disclosure in force.

Very much their loss.

I hope that Freeman isn't next.

I was unaware that the Guardian ran an obituary on Peter Sutcliffe. WTF?!

Was she the woman who wrote a sad article about miscarriage and the dehumanising nature of some words used these days to describe mothers?

I know this has been done to death but I still find the direction of travel at The Guardian a huge disappointment, especially under a female editor.

Suzanne's tweet previous to announcing her departure called the obituary disgusting. Good for her.

Can her and Jenni Murray set up some sort of media outlet?

I could o with something to read.

Some of Suzanne's greatest hits (there are too many to catalogue here, but these are some of the ones that have upset so many people at The Guardian):

Women must have the right to organise. We will not be silenced...

www.theguardian.com/society/commentisfree/2020/mar/02/women-must-have-the-right-to-organise-we-will-not-be-silenced

If we can't define what a woman is, how can we organise politically?

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/aug/03/define-what-a-woman-is-organise-politically-suzanne-moore

We need to talk about miscarriage – and the language we use really matters...

Some background on the internal row:

The row over Suzanne Moore is a test for the Guardian's liberal credentials

Good for her. Maybe (although I won’t hold my breath) the Guardian will start to realise why they are in such dire financial straits. The Horton-dwelling, bearded wokesters who they seem to aim themselves at represent a tiny fraction of the population. By letting their quality staff go, they are going to lose so many more readers. I only read stuff by Owen Jones and Ash Sarkar and others so that I can laugh at how clueless and out of touch these idiots are. Suzanne’s stuff was measured and made people think. She was what a journalist should be.

This reminds me of the Labour election. Even when people are screaming in their faces that they are getting it wrong, they just don’t get it.

I'd be really interested in some alternative media outlets to focus my attention on at the moment, if anyone has any recommendations.
