No that was my linking to something I had looked at earlier, I asked to have it removed (I did think it was weird you were linking to something I had looked at earlier....)

It’s the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft, woke central and the sort of shithole part of town where the young middle classes like to slum it.
It’ll be tagged to oblivion in about a week, or replaced by something equally earnest about the fashionable cause du jour. 🙄

Don't they make the connection that huge long NHS waiting lists for treatment for GID / trans patients have something to do with the vast rise in cases? That they welcome and think are a good thing (and not a trend, oh no).

And do they really think that waiting to have healthy body parts removed or mangled or your endocrine system messed up for the sake of a sense of identity, is more important than all the people who are on waiting lists for kidney transplants, heart surgery and other lifesaving treatments?

It must be nice to have so few real issues to deal with that you have hours and hours to spend painting a fucking mural and gaze at your navel in wonder. Fuck me. I'm doing it all wrong. Here I am worrying about my job, my mortgage defaults and whether I can afford to pay for both food and electricity this month and WHERE'S MY FUCKING MURAL????? So bloody selfish, not prioritising ME.

We put our life on hold while we wait for vital treatment that lets us begin to live ... unlike all those time-wasters wanting organ transplants, cancer treatments, surgery etc that would, er, let them stay alive?

I begin to understand why it's so hard to debate with these people. They must filter out anything that doesn't reflect them as brave and most deserving victims -- no one else really exists.

It’s typical Stokes Croft. Nobody takes any notice, anyway, it won’t even get a second glance from the Banksy walking tour crowd as they shuffle past.

Vermeil - yeah I expect it'll pass unnoticed apart from by other navel gazers. I just get so frustrated with the self pity generation, sometimes I just need to rant and fizz a little!!! We made it too bloody easy for the little sods, if they think not getting elective surgery the very moment they want it is "suffering".

In the gender identity ideology there can be only one cause for this: as society becomes more accepting of trans people, those who would have suppressed it in the past are able to come out and be their authentic and true selves. The more trans people there are, the better society is.

But even if they were right about it being lots of genuinely born-in-the-wrong-body people being free to come out, how can they find it surprising if the already struggling NHS - with a pandemic on top - can't suddenly expand to meet the "need"?

I know it all makes no sense and can't be argued with but the entitlement is still mindblowing.

We all fall into the trap of trying to apply rationality to the ideology from time to time. Best way either to get a headache or to need a drink.

I'm struck by ppl who go to the effort of a massive mural who don't seem to actually follow the cause they're promoting very closely...after all just last month the govt announced they're setting up several new gender clinics. They're asking for something they already got given a month ago, top activism.

My theory is the govt is calling activists' bluff by 're-medicalising'. It pins them down and trans has to stop being Schrödinger's medical condition.

What is it that ppl who identify as non binary actually want from the NHS?

Don't get me wrong, the medical side is nonsense too but one step at a time...

Yes, it is sad that people have to wait that long for treatment, but they are not the only ones.
How many women are waiting years to be diagnosed with things like Endometriosis or PCOS after being fobbed off by being told "It's normal, part of being a woman"?

Did they get permission from the owners of that wall to paint on it?

I walked past it the other day. It really pissed me off with the emotional blackmail. Even worse was it covered up the previous mural which was about the experiences of people struggling with lockdown with a particular focus on poverty and MH. I have reason to deal with PRSC on occasion and the majority of people who are heavily involved are utter pretentious wankers. Last time I was there I was perved on by one of the blokes who was twice my age and in front of my DP. Angry

@DeliciouslyFemale

It's one of the walls of People's Republic of Stokes Croft. They do all sorts stuff including mentoring graffiti artists so this would have been with full permission. PRSC do good work as well like supporting the local homeless population and artists but they are woke as fuck.
