On my return to the Home Office (HO), I am excited to be co-chair the Gender Equality Network (GEN) alongside Kerry O’Dea. This will be the first time the HO has had a male lead or co-leads of its gender network.

No theoretical reason why a man cannot lead or co-lead on gender equality, which, by the time and content of his writing seems to mean sex equality. Were I a civil servant, I think I'd be positive and watchful, and I'd be looking to be engaged and have my voice heard.

Kerry and I are committed to embedding gender equality in who we are and what we do. Focusing on talent, balanced representation, workplace culture and intersectionality to continue to make the experiences of women and men as positive as possible within their careers. Of course, gender is not binary, and our focus in GEN is to work collaboratively with the staff networks, the D&I and HR teams, and external experts, to deliver interventions that improve the experiences of all staff.
Which is why it should be sex not gender and Women's Equality Network. It's gender studies all over again.

Ginger that reminds me of the police force (PSNI I think) who did a #HeForShe campaign for IWD this year, and basically gave out certificates to all the men who had been decent allies.
Certificates for men. On International Women's Day. Confused

It’s not helpful to think of sexism in the workplace as a “women’s issue” cos “gendered judgments” impact the experience of the workplace for MEN as well! This is “what about the men“ in woke form. So how are men negatively affected by gendered judgments (by women) in the workplace? Because it seems to me that men are doing fantastically at work!
