(139 Posts)The absolute thrill and power surge this TRA, Bethany Baptiste, must have felt in doing this.

Sorry if this is a dupe - I did search.
This is appalling. Is she a union member? Surely this can't be legal? (I know, I know - Maya F)
This is sickening. I left twitter a few weeks ago as this TRA self righteous crap made me think I was going insane. Bethany Baptiste surely thinks she's done a wonderful thing by getting a woman fired from her job. No wonder women are afraid to speak out. I work in publishing and have to keep quiet about this too.
It's totally outrageous, and very worrying.
I think Tiffany's tweet in the second picture sums it up. Basically anyone educated, even at the most basic level, in biology, is transphobic
If you're triggered that much by nature and any talk of it, so badly that you demand the world pretends biology doesn't exist so as not to hurt your feelings, you need help with that. It's unhealthy.
Professionals that are playing along with this have a lot to answer for.
What a weak employer.
It's crazy that we live in a world where being doxxed and fired for feminist belief* can happen.
*and being critical of gender is a bog standard feature of feminism.
This is why I loathe the acceptance that employers own an employee's non-work social media. People should only be dismissed for issues pertaining to how they do their job. We are not owned 24/7 - assuming that she's been sacked for breaching some b/s 'disrepute' clause.
Her 'transgressions'

I believe the cowards who fired her have locked their account, but their contact form is here:

It's impossible to see transactivism as anything but an attack on feminists and therefore women.
They all think they’re so progressive.
Yeah, we’ve all been there.
In time the next generation will despise them for some “bigotry” they can’t see.
She's in a fire at will state in the US.
'Progressives' think it's noble to weaponise the lack of workers rights against a worker. That's what passes for progressive in the 21st C.
THIS is what the ACLU should be fighting for, not suing the shit out of institutions to get men into women's toilets.
Talking about the reality of biology is 'filth' now, but sissy porn and fetishism is just fine.
Just forwarded this to a successful, published friend of mine who has been considering new representation. She messaged back straight away and said she's going to share with her network of writer friends to avoid Tobias like the plague.
I was reading this in Twitter earlier. Her cowardly former employer were receiving loads of push back. Looks like they've limited their account now. Can't even stand up to their decision.
I love Tiffany. I regularly read her tweets. Always agree with her.
But saying TRAs are claiming biology isn't real is a 'strawman' right? Made up by GC people to make them (TRAs) look unhinged.
And cancel culture doesn't even exist anyway, right?
How strange, some comments on the agents' facebook page don't all seem to be showing up.
It is pathetic that so many employers are buckling to this nonsense. Hugely unfair that women who believe in biology appear to suddenly be the boogeyman. Being able to get sacked for believing wome ar sa real thing, and that womens rights should exist is just bloody scary.
Hugely unfair that women who believe in biology appear to suddenly be the boogeyman.
And it's not even a belief. It's reality. Provable, undeniable reality. Gender identity is the belief here. I've yet to hear it explained in a way that doesn't involve sexist stereotypes.
We shouldn't be obliged to believe in gender identity, in the same way we're not obliged to believe in God.
Hopefully Baptiste will reap what they sowed in terms of career destruction.
Interestingly, the agency have taken their list of clients off their webpage, I hope they too are feeling the heat in a big way. Their clients don't, obviously, deserve to be "cancelled" but I'll be boycotting them anyway - this situation only gets worse if we don't stoop to TRA tactics. .

JKR has tweeted about this. I can only find it on faircop as a retweet, someone else might be able to link. Lots of support but twitter are busy trying to delete likes and it's trending in UK
This is (again) chilling. I am moving to an organisation that I know to be fully immersed in Stonewall. I have already discussed with my partner the possibility that I may lose my job because of my views (and the fact that I will not be able to lie about them if push comes to shove).
JKR has tweeted about this
I think that's her Tweet about Maya F from approximately 800 years ago. Would be interesting if she does get involved in this. I imagine she plans her moves carefully so she'll only Tweet about this if she can make a significant impact somehow.
Yes, I see Kantastic. I thought it was something new. However, it appears there is still a bit of a storm out there, or am I wrong on that too. Must try and understand this twitter stuff.
They may have shot themselves in the foot thre! One of their specialities is bodice rippers, women's sex fantasy writers.
They also have a strong BLM stance on their website - yet their team and most of their writers are white, even the ones who write on black lives, terrorism etc.
I emailed them and ridiculed their wokeness, wishing them well in their new trans/non binary niche!
Interesting that trans writers are thanking Baptiste for drawing their attention to this heinous crime of wrongthink.
I'm now wondering how many trans-centred books the publishers will have to commit to in order to cater to all the submissions. It certainly wouldn't do for any of these eager writers to compare multiple rejections and conclude that it's all talk.
Time to pony up, Tobias. Put your money where your money is.
