Hmmm
The article could have done with defining terms a bit. Its not clear that children are bring forced to use mixed sex spaces.
Only those who are following this stuff will know what they mean
Yes, it feels like the author doesn't actually know too much about it all himself.
Hopefully there will be some clarification in the comments which are moderated for this article.
Comments aren't appearing to show up for me.
It really shouldn't be down to the public to bring the clarity. Disappointing really. Its a bit PN rather than Times. Report the facts ffs
Comments are being moderated. I have one pending, if they aren't moderated they appear straight away. It will be a while before the first show up.
So if 99.9% of the females/males are uncomfortable they all have to queue for the most likely 1 accessible toilet in the school. So the 0.01% can use the toilet that they feel they should use? Bonkers!
This is why a third space such as an accessible toilet should be used for the 0.01%.
Can you imagine a group of 100 females all queueing up for the accessible toilet while the 1 transgender pupil has the run of the female toilets!?!
Oh god, he didn't even mention that John Swinney had refused to pull the illegal guidance. After everything he's been in the news for this week, why was this fact missed out!!!

To highlight how selfish it all is , no one ever seems to think about the pupils who will need that accessible toilet. So not only are actual girls excluded from their own spaces the disabled kids are excluded from school altogether. How can they attend when 1499 pupils are queuing for the 1 toilet thats by law provided for them
One of our local high schools has mixed sex toilets and a single enclosed "female," toilet cubicle with a san pro bin.
My friends DD just started her period and her first concern was her horror at having to go in the "you have your period... ha ha," toilet, which this cubicle has become.
Saying no way should the gender questioning children have to be shamed into going into a separate space, but that it's totally okay for girls to be shamed for their periods?!

Pitiful provision for 50 percent of the pupils
Why does no one challenge the right of the pressure groups to "draw up guidance"?
The charities quoted sound as if they are reading from the Stonewall script.

Tbh people have always tried stuff on. The whole reason guidance exists is to have something to point these chances towards should they try anything.
The ease at which all this has happened is disturbing.
Almost as if the last few years have been a secret mission of strategically placed people everywhere waiting for this day having gradually done the groundwork unnoticed.

This is exactly it. I read something about everything to be done by stealth, otherwise the backlash would prevent implementation. We are so bloody stupid
Yes that's why its always the case that kids go back after the holidays and find its set up this way.
Parents are never told and the kids are emotionally blackmailed in the weeks.building up.
As per the letter in the other thread banging on about values etc
So now girls have announce their "bigotry" by walking out of their way to use other toilets.
Even when there's apparently "choice" its made damn sure that its obvious who has the issues and what they think of them for it
Hmm so having regularly checked in on the article and allowing for the delay re comments it seems a little odd to me that not only have more comments than usual have been deleted that weren't remotely offensive , there are usually hundreds of comments and now its only 81.
We know there's alot of censorship however something feels more off than usual...
Yeah all the lobby groups in Scotland been working and getting access to Scottish government. To get this sort of guidance implemented
Charities can’t get fund ing if they don’t bow down
Roswell I have noticed this happening more and more with The Times. I am also noticing that these kinds of articles will show in the app as having 0 comments, until you click to post a comment and find that there are hundreds there. The transgender Vikings bollocks they ran today (backing up the theory by recourse to the views of an employee of Stonewall, FFS) makes me worry that Julie Burchill was correct when she said (in her article on India Knight) that the Times is trying to rebrand as a woke paper. I don’t know what they could possibly achieve by such a move. That field is already pretty well occupied, and the Times is not a cheap subscription. If the comments are representative of their general readership, subscribers will leave in droves if they go full woke.
The whole article is just weird.
Janice Turner has done some good work and easy to follow articles.
This is a mess tbh. Really anger inducing becuase of the complete lack.of shame over publishing a very cleaely deliberately evasive article.
If the regular sane perfectly polite commenters start failing to get published on favour of 2 particularly rude, threatening at times and who have nothing besides insults , laughable false equivalents and mantras to add to the conversation we are even more screwed than we were before.
I hope she was wrong. But seemingly not
