Would you take part in a mass naked lie down demo to highlight the erasure of women's rights?

There's a small rumble on Twitter suggesting this as a way of women showing our vulnerability and refusal to be pushed aside. And a shock tactic obviously. Would you take part?

Absolutely not.

No. Not because of body consciousness issues, but because women are vulnerable and making ourselves more so by being naked won't change that.

No.

I think it would be far better if women did not go to work. Did not make dinner.

Like in iceland in the 70s. All women simply downed tools and went on a march. Clothed. I think that's a much better idea.

Only if I can get an appt for a bikini wax first! 😆😆

Hell no. Surely nobody wants their naked body out there in social media land. I'm not sure public indecency is the best way to get the point across to be honest.

No. Our vulnerability isn’t based on us being naked.

Why do women have to be naked before we are listened to? Ridiculous suggestion.

Fucking hell no!

I agree with @WinnieLo. Far more effective solution.

Weather dependant.

Much as though my old raddled body would look really terrible, I think I would, but then I'm from the generation that did believe in direct action.

I think young women might be more up for this but they don't seem the sort nowadays????

Really? Ridiculous idea

No. Definitely not. There'd be the usual mix of body shaming and objectifying wank bank posts. What would it achieve? Plus it's usually bleeding freezing or pissing down.

Like PP said - why do we have to be naked to get our point across? Are we not worthy of discussion if we're fully clothed? Is it really the only way to get derision attention? Like a toddler stripping off during a tantrum. Absolutely not.

No. Mass lie down? Yes.

But I don't believe the most revolutionary thing a woman can do is take off her clothes.

Parker231 · 02/08/2020 11:42

No - would make them look ridiculous.

Yes! I am quite the exhibitionist though and also think biology is at the crux of women's oppression.

No, I don't get the need to be naked, yes it might gather more attention, but not for the right reasons. It is sad that so many feel the only way we can be heard is to be naked.

Nope.

Marching would be a much more appropriate response.

No. I doubt it would endear us to the public at large. Most people want to go about their day without being caught up in a mass throng of nudity no matter what the cause. I don't think it shocks people - just irritates them.
