Look, the wheels are juddering off as we speak, so I don't know why she's done this now, but she's been on the receiving end of the mob more than once, and just like I won't rip into Rose McGowan for capitulating to them, I won't go for Amanda. It takes enormous strength to withstand all this. Let's not kid ourselves about that.

Julie Bindel rightly gets pissed off about public moral cowardice of named people, and she has every right to because she's out there facing down the big guns.

Even Joanne Rowling has only been openly arguing for a few months now. If you've watched other women receive this abuse and had a taste yourself, you are perfectly conditioned to embrace the sweet relief of a public 'conversion' and the welcoming warm embrace of the people whom you know would be forcibly offering you their dicks to suck if you step out of line.

Also, I think this sort of thing - where a woman tentatively makes some mildly GC or simple pro-science remarks, then gets a pile on until she grovels for forgiveness. I think it's a bit of a weird tweet, really. She's already "profoundly apologised" and not tweeted anything on any other subject. Then suddenly she retweets something from GLAAD - well, I've never heard of them - and no other tweets.

She's in an awful position, as she needs to work, and has received some horrible abuse to boot. I feel quite sad about it all.

Oh, it all makes sense now. Glaad offered to re-educate JKR last year when she tweeted about Maya Forstater.
They must have made the same offer to AA. This endorsement was probably a requirement for a pass grade.
