Will biology teachers face discipline in the future...

if some woke pupil reports them for explaining the differences between the female and male reproductive system?

Nothing of the sort is happening in my dc's school and luckily both dcs are sensible enough not to fall for the trans ideology.

I hope not! Like it or not, male and female bodies & reproductive systems are biological fact and that cannot be disputed.
It will no doubt happen though. My DC are all under 7 but I hope they are sensible like yours when they’re old enough to be faced with this nonsense.

It's interesting, I work in an FE college and some of the younger lecturers (not science thank goodness) are also very woke and spout the "Transwomen are women", "Some women have penises" nonsense.

Not whilst the biological differences are on the national curriculum and gcse specification. I can't see that changing so we should be safe.
If a biology teacher is teaching PHSE they may get in trouble then.

I work in a high school and I overheard a biology teacher telling students that men can get pregnant, god knows what kids are going to grow up believing.

X how do they say that with a straight face??

Just reading it gives me a nosebleed, quite frankly.

I’ve just had to do the homeschooling PHSE sex and girls’ puberty lessons for my Year 4 DD. They clearly had the pics of male and female anatomy. Also for the puberty session I was very glad to see all the paperwork talked about girls and women having periods. I’m very clear when talking to DD about the difference in sex - she is not going to be brainwashed or hoodwinked.

Unless the progress of radical TRAism is arrested then I imagine this;ll happen eventually.

Not until "they" manage to change the curriculum.

At the moment we need to teach reproduction, genetics etc as part of GCSE and A level.

They were both male (surprise surprise) in their 20s at the time when we were having a discussion about self ID and I raised concerns about having men in the women's toilets, and both of them shouted me down with TWAW and that "loads of women rape" even though I pointed out that legally they couldn't.

[quote EndoplasmicReticulum]This happened last year:

Thanks @EndoplasmicReticulum. At least we get to keep "female" for sex but having seen a lot of biology deniers stuff recently, it just makes me worried.

Having read through the replies I know I'm probably walking into a hornet's nest but all I ask is that my entire reply is read before you reply back.

As a transsexual, I know most would think I am going to try to argue against the OP about biology, but actually I'm not, quite the opposite in fact.

At the end of the day, there are only 2 sex's, male, female, and intersex is both male and female, so the biology still holds true.

There is a misconception both in law and in the transgendered community between transgendered women and Transsexual women, and I've often had this discussion in the trans community and I always get told to shut up by them.

I have a male friend I used to volunteer with at local Foodbank, he's heavily into A level politics and law, and we were having a discussion about trans rights and he said in law we are all classed as transgendered.

I was like nope, transsexual women are nothing like transgendered women, we nothing in common with them at all.

But, he was right when it came to law-making, the medical profession ties us all with the same term, so when laws get made about trans rights, I can totally get where CIS women are coming from, why you get so p*ssed off and angry over it all, I would too in your position.

Now I'm not asking anyone to agree with me on this, but this is how a CIS lesbian woman once explained it to me how she saw the whole trans rights mess.

She asked me what was the difference between being a transsexual woman and a transgendered woman?

I said, a transsexual woman mentally thinks they are female, but the sexual organs on their body are male, and they take the hormones and have the GR Surgery to transfer the male sexual organs to female sexual organs, hence the term Trans Sexual, Transferring from one sex to the other.

A transgendered woman uses clothes to create the illusion of being a woman on a temporary basis, they have no intentions of ever doing hormones and having the surgery, they are guys in dresses, some might be super feminine guys in dresses, but they still guys in dresses and transgendered covers everything from Crossdressers to transvestites to drag queens to those that do it for fetish / sexual reasons and god knows whatever else gets included in that spectrum these days.

The CIS lesbian woman said to me after I explained that: I can't have kids, I don't get periods, so if once your post-op you are not a woman then I guess I'm not one either, as I don't see what difference there would be between us, apart from you'd have risked your life to correct natures mistake.

The easy solution to the whole trans rights saga would be to simply say, once post-op you are that sex so you are one of us, and since those not doing that are just trans then they do not need rights as they nothing to do with you.

At the end of the day, I'm not here to try to convince anyone to think different, just putting my views with everyone else's, and to show we are not all the same.

Wish everyone all the best, and hope Y'All stay safe and well.

Blessed Be

Maxine thats a lovely story, but being female isnt about whether one has children, or periods.

XX is female, XY is male.
Its impossible to change sex, regardless of how many operations one has.

I am sympathetic to how transsexuals such as yourself are also being screwed over by TRAs so I apologose if that sounds harsh, but when we are at risk of losing all sex based rights we have to be very clear on what sex is.

As a side note, cis is seen as offensive and can get your posts deleted on mumsnet, just saying women will do.

@MaxineTS sorry, I tried to read your full post but I only got as far as “CIS”???

CIS women??? You mean women, yes?

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 17/07/2020 07:30

Maxine I've never had children and my periods are stopping. I have short hair, rarely wear make up and wear jeans and trainers all the time. Every cell of my body is still of the biological sex class woman (no cis necessary).

I don't accept that transwomen who have transitioned are women, because they're not. However I do realise for the most part they're also being badly affected by the current gender nonsense.

@MaxineTS wow! Thanks for coming to a feminist forum to mansplain to us all how a man with genital surgery is basically a woman, that’s not insulting at all 🤔

I’m hoping it will disappear like McCarthyism did after a while, but there is the outside possibility that we look forward to a future like in Interstellar, where instead of the moon landings being denied, one gutsy girl dares to express the view that there are only two sexes and she’s hauled up to the principal’s office. Matthew McConaughey then leads a dangerous mission to space to take all the science believers to somewhere safe to ensure the future of the human race, leaving all the science deniers behind to figure out how to procreate without understanding biology.

There you go Christopher Nolan, a script idea for you.

When you write "CIS woman", Maxine, you mean "woman", right?

As a woman, I don't need any invented prefix to make my biological status any clearer. I am an adult human female.

I worked in a religious school which had a not insignificant number of pupils who believed in creationism. I always emphasised that science lessons taught the scientifically accepted theories that were supported by evidence. Nothing is ever ‘certain’ but that theories were accepted as long as no evidence every proved them to be false.

Science teachers have always had to navigate their way around ridiculous ideology. If they give up on this fight then the country is truly f*cked as everything is then up for grabs.

I totally agree with this post.

Had some very interesting discussions on creationism over the years and its much the same ridiculous ideology as the gender stuff. I know most of the older staff in our science dept are GC and as we have a number of transgender students, they deal with it with much eye rolling. We had a new crop of very young staff just out of Uni last year and I'm not sure where they stand but I may do a bit of digging to find out.

I have always felt that if you’re a parent you must not do the typical British thing and feel awkward around sex - tell your kids the truth as soon as you can. My 5 year old has known about periods for some time, she knows about “mating” as she calls it and that even baby girls have eggs inside them. We look at birds a lot and that’s a good way to talk about male and female.
On the other hand growing up in the 80s I knew very little until I was about ten and if that was the case with a ten year old today it would be v dangerous imo

Sadly I don't think that the sciences will escape if things continue on their current trajectory.

James Lindsay and Joe Rogan discussing how science is considered to be a western construct and "western way of knowing" (starts at 1:26) and how American schools and universities are incorporating this idea into science curricula:
