Is there anything that I can do about this?

Write to the council and your MP. They need to know not everyone is super happy to be woke.

Defo write to the council. Lots of people on here helped me write to my local council when some toilets local to me were made mixed sex. We can help.

Thank you, what should I write?

It seems they are saying it's for social distancing and have made the entry to the toilet through the mens and the exit through the womens.

At first it looks like only the mens side is open.

Already there is urine on the toilet seats and loitering men. I feel that women will stop using these toilets and they will be mainly used by men especially with the confusing signage.

Which public toilet is this in RBKC?

There is a thread here about what happened in stoke - they reversed it quickly

Also Northampton tried the same thing - thread about that too on here - also reversed!

The ones on Portobello road, Bevington road and there is one near Queensway but I think that is the borough of Westminster

When you say 'gender neutral' I am assuming you mean mixed sex? (I do wish these councils would use the correct terms!) In that they have just changed the signage.

Or has there been a lot of work done to give individual cubicles with floor to ceiling walls and doors, a hand wash basin and a sanitary bin in each unit?

For clarity I will point out when discussing this that toilets on aeroplanes and trains are working examples of gender neutral toilet facilities. Toilets (usually the women's) where the label has just been changed to allow mixed sex use is not the same thing!

When did that happen? The loos in ken gardens were single sex at the weekend! I’ll have a nosey at queensway later and report back...

So they have just opened the middle door that was separating the toilets and put signs saying gender neutral.

Isn't that illegal though? It's not as if it was a listed building or a small cafe where there is only room for one loo - they have purposely altered current facilities?

Nothing online but oh look, our favourite mayor was planning this in 2017...

Both Northampton & stoke reversed this very quickly after some pointed letters to the council about the equality act

For real?!!?! Can someone provide evidence. I’ve been searching and I haven’t found articles on it.

Are there urinals? Are they visible to women and girls?

So the horrible men’s loos on the market are now ‘gender neutral’ (why can’t the say unisex? Gender means nothing) but all locked up anyway. I haven’t been along there for a few weeks and think this is new. Don’t actually remember they’re being any women’s loos (but I try to avoid public loos if at all possible).

The loos in Kensington garden are still single sex.

Canterbury Cathedral reopens with unisex toilets to help maintain distancing

In the sun.

This is starting to get lots of attention.

It comes after the Archbishop came under fire last week after he announced statues at the 950-year-old cathedral would be carefully reviewed in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests

Oh really? Then will the entire premise of the Anglican Church come under scrutiny because of Henry VII's acts of femicide that underpinned it?
