How do I email JKRowling - and indeed, Meg Rosoff?

I was so pleased to read that JKR had had over 3,000 emails of support.... those numbers will be soaring even more now, and clearly make a difference to her.

She has been so courageous speaking out - I want to thank her.

How do I find her email address?

And also Meg Rosoff who I adore I think is one of very few authors to stand beside her - it is less than a handful isn't it? Unbelievable

Great - who also fancies doing so? Huge thanks for telling us all how to do it... so easy just to drop a line.....

It’s freely available on her webpage for both supporters and those who want to abuse. She has a lovely team who pass on support and act as a dustbin for unthinking vitriol.

Hi!
I am brand new here
I was a regular visitor to GenderCritical on Reddit and needed a new place to get my feminism fix, was recommended Mumsnet by a fellow like minded woman...

I wanted to figure out how to e mail JKR in support

Sorry to be incredibly dense but is it just

[email protected]

that you are all using?

Thank you so much :)

Welcome to the dark side, RosieShacklebolt. Grin The email is in a previous poster’s comment.

Hehe thank you for the welcome :)
Glad to be here!

On the enquiries link? That's what I thought. I shall be e-mailing shortly. Thank you.

I wrote her an old school letter when I was ten years old saying how much I loved her books and how much of an inspiration she was and got a lovely letter (yes, the one everyone got I'm sure, but still, very exciting for a kid!) back. It's surreal that I'll now be e-mailing her in my thirties about how amazing she is to be standing up for women....!

That is indeed the email, Rosie. And I think pretty much all of us have had nice replies from her staff. Or you can send a snail-mail card via her publisher.

I sent an email of support to JKR after the Radcliffe/Watson debacle to [email protected], and got a nice response. I felt like I had actually done something worthwhile when she mentioned the 3000 emails in her essay.

Rosie I had the exact same experience - fanmail as a child and that amazing letter back (did yours have the "Alohomora" stamp on the front that changed colour with heat?) and writing to her now as an adult human female. ☺️

I've just mailed her a thank you.

Thanks all :)

@SoftlySoftly123 omg no, mine did not! I wonder if that was an earlier or later version? Sounds amazing! Mine had a letter from 'her' complete with (not actual ink but still) signature, and also a generic Q&A interview thing enclosed.

It's so weird, isn't it? How different the world is now from then. She's such a legend, honestly. I was so so so thrilled to see her tweets and that excellent back up essay, particularly as she had been a childhood hero already. Guessing you felt similar!
