Erm

I suppose it makes a change from middle aged lefty women being responsible for male violence against GNC men, gay men and trans women?

Didn't he want JK Rowling removed from the future Fantastic Beast films because of her transphobia? Good enough for him, getting a taste of what he was happy to align himself with.

Hard to feel sympathy for him really. Oh well.

TheShoesa · 29/06/2020 21:02

Has he apologised for taking the role yet? And for his literal violence against the trans community?

(Seeing as he was happy enough to add to the voices attacking JKR for her supposed transphobic view that sex is real)

Oh I didn't listen to the whole thing by the way.

Why do trans activists never focus on the actual perpetrators? It seems odd.

Feminists spend a LOT of time trying to bring the conversation around to the actual problems.

How many men watched the Danish girl and thought yep I'll go and kick in a trans person. I doubt it would be a natural choice of film for that type of bloke?

Hand-wringing apologia video due tomorrow, no doubt.

So a man playing a trans women is literal violence. A performance of femininity. A travesty.

But a man playing a women either in life (transwomen) or art (drag) is totally cool, doesn’t harm women and nothing to do with harmful stereotypes?

Right.

The TW here (sorry, don't know who they are) has a problem with men playing TW because it links to violence against TW because men who have relationships with TW don't want to be seen as gay.

TW who continue 'in role' as women outside of the screen mean that the men who have relationships with them aren't seen as gay, so there will be less violence.

So I'm shouting at the screen, of course - "What is wrong with being gay that you think the appropriate way to deal with homophobic violence is to insist that a male person is female and 'beautiful and glamorous'??"

This shit is exactly why I see trans ideology as homophobic to the very core. This person can't even hear that they're saying "It's ok, you're not gay if you sleep with me". Which is to say "It would be bad if you were gay."

I would have felt sorry for him a few weeks ago..... And JK Rowling might even have stepped in and defended him.....

It's all very nasty and childish and I do wish it would stop. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the trans people I have known and worked with personally ; nothing but compassion for people struggling with their identity; I want nothing but the best for this generation of trans kids. I don't actually believe it's them running this show, and I don't think that redmayne, Radcliffe et al are either.

See how disposable they are as soon as they get on the wrong side of the trans rights activists? See how much loyalty the community shows those that stand up for them and speak out for them? I have friends who are doing the same, speaking up, being very vocal whilst I am a bit scared to say what I think, but if they do one thing wrong, make one false step I can see that they will be torn down and stamped on just as easily....

May I laugh? They always bite the hand that feeds them. You can never debase yourself ENOUGH for the Stalinists, so stop trying. I wonder if Eddie will learn from this.

It’s crazy. And in this particular case very very funny. Don’t recall him climbing up his own arse to apologise for taking the role.

I seem to be slow to the party. Someone tweeted it 2 days ago.

Yes, I saw it two days ago and it is just as daft.

The irony is hilarious.

Having read the first few comments though they're all very measured and it's all presented as simply an opinion. He isn't getting torn to pieces in the way women are for their supposed transphobia unless it's happening elsewhere online?

When will people learn? You can never satisfy the woke.

As soon as they've finished with one victim they are hunting for the next. It doesn't matter if you previously been an 'ally', if they turn their attention your way you will be found guilty.

hypernormal It destroys the illusion. Think of it as feminine mystique

Of course, this is in the eye of the person with the feminine mystique

Purity Control have found you, Eddie. Redmayne needs to apologise for the violence this role has caused, and relinquish his Oscar. To borrow my favourite comment off Twitter of late:

You know the rules. Full cancellation and unpersoning. Pack your stuff.
