FIVE DEMANDS NOT ONE LESS

I hesitate before posting as I'm not entirely sure if this is a wind up. But here is an anonymous website with dates and times of forthcoming protest marches, and five 'demands' (not one less!) that look, er, utterly reasonable... Hmm

5 KEY DEMANDS:

  1. There will be granted no new ability for anyone to discriminate on the basis of Gender Identity and Expression/Gender Transition. This is our key demand.

  1. The clause in the proposed amendment prohibiting conversion therapy must go ahead and must provide a ban on conversion therapy for both sexual orientations and gender expression/transition. This must include Non-Binary people.

  1. The conservative government must release a statement apologising for the way they have treated transgender and non-binary people and also must apologise for even suggesting such an amendment be implemented.

  1. Elizabeth Truss must either be removed or step down as Minister for Women and Equalities and must never assume the role for the rest of her life.

  1. A government department for the advancement of the rights and quality of life of transgender and non-binary people specifically must be created and consulted. We also must not lose our representation in the Government Equalities Office.

5 demands, not one less.

  1. No one is allowed to question our behaviour ever again. (There is no 'new ability', we just want the one already in place properly implemented because humans can't change sex)

  1. Transing gay kids is conversion therapy but we want to stop you from helping them to be happy being gay.

  1. Grovel at our feet.

  1. Liz Truss is not the right kind of woman so must be used as an example for any other uppity woman that dares say no to us.

  1. Although are many groups are already given a ridiculous amount of funding in relation to our numbers, and that we have already been changing policy on the sly, we want complete control over everything.

'Public rest rooms' is an Americanism.

Why are people in the USA trying to dictate what the UK government should be doing?

Also Lewes is a bizarre location for a protest. Have they ever been to Lewes? I wonder what they are hoping to achieve there.

must provide a ban on conversion therapy for both sexual orientations and gender expression/transition.

But... but... since many ‘trans kids’ will grow up LGB - a bit of an oxymoron me thinks.

I know logic and fact was never their strong point - but these people really are as thick as shit if they think we can’t see it.

More sunlight for the Tavistock in the Autumn is highly welcome.

Lewes is pretty woke and not far from Brighton, which is woke-central.

"We will achieve and defend our equality by any means necessary."

Nicking Malcolm X to insinuate that violence is ok?

It's not one less, it's one fewer.

(In trans people denied access to English language lessons shocker.)

Why don’t they demand the government pinky promises to never ever have someone who centres women equalities in a position of power? Why beat around the bush? These are your demands. 14, not one less.

1st rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.
2nd rule of misogyny: Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.
4th rule of misogyny: Women's opinions are violence against men thus male violence against women is justified.
5th rule of misogyny: WATM! Women and Feminism must be useful to men or they are worthless.
6th rule of misogyny: Women who go around being female AT men by menstruating and breast feeding babies deserve punishment.
7th rule of misogyny: Women should always be grateful to men for everything.
8th rule of misogyny: Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.
9th rule of misogyny: Men always know the "real reasons" for everything women do and say.
10th rule of misogyny: The worst thing about male violence is that it males men look bad.
11th rule of misogyny: Basic pattern recognition skills are cruel and evil when they hurt men's feelings.
12th rule of misogyny: whatever women suffer from, men suffer from more.
13th rule of misogyny: Women are not oppressed! Rape and catcalling and objectification are all compliments, not oppression. 14th rule of misogyny: Women have all the rights they need: The right to remain silent.

You're all really mean. Some teen has tried hard with that. Grin

I much preferred the declaration where they wanted to operate on each other and everyone had to be freed from prison. Anyone remember that?

Or they'll scream and scream until they make themselves sick...

Crack on I say. The childishness, irrationality and utter inability to care about anyone else combined with absolute rage if anyone in authority dares to suggest it's not All About Them All The Time and that other groups have rights too.....

Yes, let's have that in full sunlight please. All the national news channels, all the papers, as much publicity as possible. Let's ensure people see for themselves what is going on here.

It is incredibly helpful that Liz Truss is getting to experience personally the tantrums and abuse hurled at any female who even implies a 'no' in this lobby's directions.

I think they have every right to peaceful protest and I look forward to seeing it happen. I am sure it will be most enlightening.

I don’t. What was this? I’m new to the scene and let’s face it... this hasn’t been getting the media coverage it deserves.

This sounds like an admittance that they have a stooge in the GEO and they are worried about him being moved post.

This one did make me laugh. This has definitely been written by someone under the age of 18.

Very good point Aesop - I missed that. I was mostly laughing at first but that's not funny.

The civil servants must be impartial (ha!) not representing any particular cause.

I think that's a fabulous list of demands and I would love to see it as widely communicated and publicised as possible. The more it reaches, the better.

Even the tone of it is the sound of the stamping of tiny little feet just perfect.

Grin

Is anyone is on Twitter, could they please send it to the Baroness? I'm sure she would want to know more about their representative in the supposedly impartial GEO.

Abirdandaworm sorry for the clunky link to reddit, it’s available elsewhere and the Daily Mail has an article on this which covers Jess Bradle. If you haven’t come across them that’s a story you will find interesting.

It’s the Edinburgh branch for Action for Trans Health. It is a Man-ifesto not a declaration but what a glorious thing it is. It deserves to be shared far and wide.

Weird. It seems to be a real site, even though it reads like a parody - proof that you cannot satirise these people!
I notice they had a protest march planned for yesterday, 20 June, in Durham, but I didn’t (at a quick look) find any mention of it in the news. Lots more protests planned through the summer, including London Hyde Park on 4 July.
