(6 Posts)I thought this needed its own thread.
I read it and though Fuck Yea
"I know how hard it is right now. I see so many of you struggling, giving up, getting tired and being abused. I see you trying to thicken your skin to face another day talking about the most basic shit, because you know you will have another day of abuse and threats. I see society get more and more misogynistic every day. I watch as some of the world’s biggest abusers and misogynists run our countries, royalty and governments.
My sisters, you are the force that the world needs right now. Every time you take a stand, you do something brilliant. You are a raging fire."

Oh yes.
Dale Spender wrote in 1986 that with every wave of feminism, comes a backlash of misogyny. The first wave feminists who were killed, tortured, abused, humiliated, force fed and beaten, changed the world for women, forever...[and] men in the patriarchy created disgusting, ugly public caricatures of them as witches, barren, old, haggard and hated. The point of this strategy was two-fold: to break their spirits and to hold them up as an example to the other women – of what would happen to them if they dared to join the suffragettes.
Second wavers...threw light on the way women were being discriminated against in every aspect of their personal and public lives. They continued the work of the first wave, by publicly and intelligently criticising and challenging the male establishment. They did this despite constant portrayals as man-hating, controlling, abusive, ugly, childless lesbians.
As you can probably see, there's a pattern forming here... The memes look exactly like the old suffragette postcards. Shit has not changed one fuckin bit.
Amen.
Here's to the fourth wavers, spending day after day wading through that shit on FWR trying to defend female rights as a sex class against a male rights movement.

Enjoyed that, thanks for flagging. Am I brave enough to post it on my Facebook?
I've been gradually outing myself as a radical feminist. I shared a radfem meme the other day which said 'when say we are gender critical, we are not saying people should be gender conforming. We are saying the opposite, that men and women should be free to dress and act however they like and not be forced into gender roles based upon their sex'. It got 1 like but it was from someone who's very woke, TWAW, which I think highlights that he hasn't realised how sexist his position is.
Dr Jessica Taylor is an incredible woman. Keep meaning to buy her book.
It's a brilliant read. She's amazing, can't believe she's 29!
