I was considering getting a Harry Potter tattoo

In support of JKR.

But the responses of cast have put a dampener on that.

Am trying to think what small gesture I could get.

I have around 30 tattoos so it's not some huge gesture, I like to add little things I feel strongly about.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Get a quote from the books.

Get something Snape said, because there’s no way Snape OR Alan Rickman would have stood for any of this shit.

“After all this time?”
“Always”

I'm actually glad the main trio of actors were so mediocre now. Means that I've never once pictured any of their faces as I've read and reread the books.

I loved the books. I've not read them in years but I did adore them as they came out.

I've never seen the films passed the first. I found Radcliffe to be so wooden I almost thought I was watching a live remake of Pinocchio.

Interestingly, the only trans person I know has an HP tattoo. Well, I don't know if it's interesting, it's just something that's just occurred to me.

I've thought about this although it'll have to wait. Was thinking something 'Lumos' given the light JKR has shone in the subject.

My friends teen gave me a Henna Harry Potter tattoo a few years ago. I said she could do whatever she wanted. I ended up with "sunshine daisies butter mellow. Turn this stupid fat rat yellow" on my arms Grin

It was great. I spent the entire summer having people say "what exactly does it say on your arms?" And then looking really confused when they read it Smile

She does have a charity called Lumos. I'm planning a /* wand tattoo to signify my love of the wizarding world.

Maybe a tattoo with a Harry Potter book. (Would be hard to do, though). I was so annoyed that Radcliffe talked about the books being tainted, when he had nothing to do with them. It's the movies that were tainted.

Maybe you could get an "I shall not tell lies about sex" tattoo on the back of your hand Grin

“we must choose between what is easy and what is right”

JKR isn’t taking the easy choice right now, is she? Some young actors, however.....!

What about the uterus giving the middle finger?

I realise it’s not HP, but I kinda like the FU of it.

I might get a HP tattoo too. Not been bothered before although I have read the books due to a very boring Xmas at the ex in-laws forced me into reading my son’s set, it was either that or MIL’s Daily Express (pre smart phone era) and I couldn’t face any more Lady Di commemorative plate ads.

Might get ‘Mischief Managed’ or something similar. I’m already extensively tattooed though and my remaining gaps are small and invisible when clothed.

The U.K. tattoo community is in the middle of a purity spiral though, so get tattooed by someone over 40 or wait a while for the dust to settle.

Ha! I might actually have done that if I had enough space for it!

For real 😳 wow. I’m not tattooed so not something I’d ordinarily think about. Thanks for expanding my bubble.
I guess I can mostly understand it, because if you’re an artist and self employed, you can have your own ethics, it’s not like like being a vegetarian scanning meat products in Tesco, but I’m still kinda surprised.

I have lots of feminist tattoos already.I was looking into getting some stickers and faltered when I realised they might get refused production.

I'm thinking maybe the deathly hallows symbol in black but with white, green and purple splattered behind, watercolour style

I think "Lumos" would be brilliant and I'm also seriously considering a goose tattoo but think I have to come out on Facebook before I deserve that.

Honk honk.
