Tweet from ShropshireReSisters at 14.47: Shropshire County Council have withdrawn the transgender tool kit. It took a little pressure and a lot of help from some wonderful people (I'd tag but they may not wish me to). Anyone else wanting to do the same in their area...do it!

WOOHOO!!!!

Excellent!

Any other councils? I’ve checked my local one -I don’t think they’ve drunk the koolaid

So now it’s Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire plus the CPS , which have withdrawn their guidance. It’s been a good week and makes me feel a bit more optimistic..

Shouldn't it be just withdrawn across the board? If it's deemed to hot to handle at the mere whiff of a legal challenge, it's a bloody disgrace that anybody's still using it.
Quite a way to go, sadly.

Good news of course for the kids at the schools.

But again shame it didnt get to court in order to put this to bed once and for all.

Great news. But isn't it incredible that Local Authorities (with statutory responsibilities for safeguarding) even entertained guidance that tells little children they could be born in the wrong body, that advises schools to transition children without informing parents, that tells girls they must undress, shower and share dormitories with boys or they're bigots and normalises drugs and surgery that has a life long impact on a child's fertility, sex lives and health.
However did they think this was ethical?

I agree though, it is a shame it didn't go to court.

A few days ago they were adamant they were not budging. I wonder what was the one thing that finally got them to reconsider

This is great although a shame we can't get it into court to be sorted out legally.

Interview with Tanya from Safe Schools Alliance about the withdrawal of some school toolkits / policies & very useful advice for parents/carers about how to check those which impact their children:

This is fantastic news! 👏👏👏

Please tell me how one finds out if a council is endorsing this toolkit? What do we search for on the council website? What section would it be under? Pretty sure my kid's school and soon to be secondary school haven't drunk the koolaid but I can't be sure. Thanks. X

Excellent news! I also would like to know what changed their minds. Has the concept "illegal" begun to sink in?

The withdrawal of this toolkit is great news, I just wish that all the other toolkits would be withdrawn too

There is a tidal wave of dodgy toolkits raising their ugly heads everywhere

Very often they are created by dubious organisations promoting dangerous and oppressive narratives relating to gender, sexual and reproductive health and mental health.

The foundation that these dubious policies about gender and sexual and reproductive health are based upon in the New Thought Movement / Positive Thinking.

If you think you are a woman you are. If you think you are a man or a child you are. If you think you are a millionaire or cured of cancer or a superhuman mega being then you are. If you are morbidly obese but want to be healthy you just have to believe you are healthy and you are! You just have to believe it enough.

Because all of this is just so much fluff, waffle, lies and delusions the promoters of this movement have devised a way of making their batshit beliefs sound sane, rational and straightforward.

They understand that their flaky ideas need to be rammed home by something that gives the impression of having transformative, penetrating power and authority.

That is all these toolkits are. Destructive, corrupting, Trojan horses masquerading as wonderful magic wands.

Withdraw your dodgy toolkits from my safe places

Is my new motto

Google search may find it:

Individual schools will have policies on their websites.

An interesting twitter thread. It's worth noting that the DfE signpost these guidelines in their Equality Act Guidance. If ever you want an indication of the level of regulatory capture of senior DfE staff, this document demonstrates how Gender Reassignment is prioritised over all the other protected characteristics. The guidance also makes repeated references to GIRES & Stonewall. No wonder schools unthinkingly welcome these groups - they assume the DfE have used due diligence and are completely unaware of the levels of regulatory capture in the DfE / civil service.
