Nicky Clark is now following WPUK, LGB Alliance and Dr Fond of Beetles.

I hope more women will be inspired to open their minds and listen to what these grassroots organisations are saying.

She is an awful bully and not a nice person.

Good that she's listening.
I would not like all bullies and not-nice people to be only listening to TRAs

  • not that I know she's a bully or not nice. I don't know who she is. Better go and read up on her.

She has been unutterably vile up until now. One of the very, very worst. This turnaround is very unexpected and very welcome. But I reserve the right to be suspicious, as have very rarely seen leopards change spots

Sounds like she's done what everyone sane does in the end - put one false step forward and got the wrath of the transborg down on her, which has pissed her off.

Good.

More and more people are beginning to realise that being a trans ally means absolute toeing the line with no deviation at all - it doesn't matter how supportive you've been, how vile to heretics, as soon as you put one step wrong, all the opprobrium that you've joined in against heretics, is directed against you. The years of desperate cognitive dissonance you've invested in going along with trans ideology, count for absolutely nothing, you get absolutely no credit for it.

Good.

I've seen the challenge she is getting even for just reading the FPFW information. Her groomers are there, pointing out that however reasonable the words seem, she needs to view them through the lens that they are all code for 'hate transwomen'. It's remarkable to see it in real time.

I saw someone the other day who shared a Twitter post about a woman artist. She was grovelling and apologising because she'd been told the person who posted the original tweet - not the artist, just someone who shared a pic of her work - might be a vile nasty TERF.

She sounded utterly terrified. It was quite chilling.

I like that someone points out all the speeches are available online.

I do question myself, am I anti-trans?

I am quite happy for trans people to be trans. I don't think it means they have really changed sex, so I don't think a transwoman is a woman.

I thought I was more male when I was a teenager, today I would be told I was trans. I worry for girls like me who will now transition and do immense harm to themselves. This is not a benign movement.

If those thoughts make me anti-trans then that's fine.

Wow Janey Godley's comment. She is firmly in the TWAW camp.

I have to say kudos to her for acknowledging her own complacency at least.

testing, you see, you're approaching this in a reflective manner.

What's going on with Nicky Clark is a woman who has been a fully paid up member, saying the mantras and joining in with the witch hunts of other women, has tried to employ calm reason, and the other members are exerting control on her.
She isn't yet a heretic - but she's looking at dangerous material, so they first use the poison the well strategy. It happened with Martina.
Now, either the subject pulls back into the fold and all is forgotten, or the subject continues to read, at which point she will probably continue raising things which worry her, which is when the heresy mechanisms will kick in properly.

At this stage, she will know enough to be seen as a bit of a problem for true believers, so even if she does fully recant, she will be, at best, a person they wheel out to say "looked at the feminist argument, wasn't convinced". The problem is, she didn't do it straight away, so not only will they know she isn't pliable enough, she will be dealing with heightened cognitive dissonance because she now knows that feminist arguments aren't 'hate'.

This is why so few members properly engage - because they know that once you move beyond a glib 'read the arguments, they are hate. TWAW!' you have destabilize yourself in the set up, and you either mark yourself as a bit dodgy to them, or you face the collective wrath and leave entirely.

So, basically, this is, as it ever was, about control.

She spent at least two years pandering to trans activists and enabling bullying campaigns against women - but she said she liked Suzanne Moore a couple of weeks ago, which led to a pile-on, including activists like Joss Prior and Amanda Jette Knox sending abusive messages to her accusing her of not believing victims of transphobia like the Guardian journalist who supposedly resigned over Moore's article.

Clark responded saying she's a victim because she has autism - which led to more bullying from trans activists and calls for her to be cancelled. So now she's listening to women

No matter what Clark's posting history might be on twitter, now she's made a mis-step and is caught between two sides I think it would be best if she can look at one side and see abuse and irrationality* and look at the other side and see fair mindedness with a willingness to look put past disagreements to one side.

She's right about the coercive control aspect too. Took her a while to see it.

I guess Nicky is learning the number 1 golden rule: You can never be woke enough.

This is positive though, Nicky was one of the core, recognisable TRAs (from my perspective) looks like they are crumbling from the inside. Grudgingly have to afford respect here for her following WPUL to form her own opinion

In terms of coercive control, have a look at Clark resisting it in a more subtle form (you've got to scroll up to read the whole discussion):

I've seen this a couple of times, "But that means you don't really think transwomen are women!!!!????Shock"

Well no, obviously not.
