He’s trying to push Lisa Nandy as to whether any man can self identify and compete in woman’s sports. He’s actually trying to talk some sense and saying it’s unfair to woman’s rights. Making really good points about trans rights overriding woman’s rights.
She will not give a straight answer to anything.

No surprise there whatsoever. It’s completely unfair. I do weightlifting and the weights the men lift are obviously heavier than (most) the women as they’re physique allows that.

She didn't cover herself in glory there. He's very careful in his wording so constantly saying he was attacking ttans rights didn't fly. I think she accused him of calling trans people grotesque, he said it was a "grotesque attack on women's rights". Why would she not just answer the question?

I wonder if Lisa Nandy and Labour's other luminaries have any idea that their uncritical adoption of Stonewall's talking points makes them look absurd every time they are questioned on this? The logical inconsistencies and incoherence of this ideology will damage politicos dumb enough to sign up to this loopy agenda....

Wow!
That was one of the most bruising interviews I've seen in a while.
He did well but I was shouting at the telly
" Ask her the selfdeclaring prisoners question!"

I only caught the tail end but wrt sport she disagreed that men shouldn't compete with women because there 'would be rules'.

I wish Piers had asked why 'rules' were necessary.

Once again shut down any debate, accuse him of attacking vulnerable people and refusal to answer.

I may not be a PM fan but he did not say anything transphobic or offensive.

How are labour ever going to win an election? They just aren’t getting it. It’s clear they will throw women under the bus.
Trying to turn it into saying Piers was attacking trans rights. I didn’t see anything like an attack - just a question she refused to answer and made herself look utterly ridiculous.

And she was assigned a sex at birth, and she knew what her baby was due to it's wristband.

I’m done with Labour. I’m a lifelong labour voter who has begrudgingly votes for them the past two elections but no more. These potential leaders couldn’t win an election, the gap between Labour and their old base is increasing. It’s so depressing

It still strikes me afresh. Women have fought for years to have the own sports categories. Because male sport dominates. And they have been opposed every step of the way.

And now men have found a way to dominate female sport. She's actually agreeing that men need to compete against women, and to make that possible, they might try and possibly disadvantage them in some way to level the playing field? (even though every study shows that this is impossible).

Because that's what women are, aren't they? Service humans to validate the feelings of men who say feel like the opposite sex.

Sometimes, hearing it anew, the utter insanity leaps out all over again.

It really is bizarre. What I find laughable is the automaton repetition of 'these are not conflicting rights' when it is crystal clear to anyone with a functioning brain cell that they are on a collision course. Another interesting aspect is that 'straight talking' Lisa Nandy reckons parroting this nonsense will help Labour into Downing Street. Beyond delusional....

She didn't exactly cover herself in glory and I think PM got it just right, she's so afraid of upsetting the trans activists in her party she cannot give a straight answer.
She didn't show herself as worthy of leadership and showed just how far the labour party have fallen. This with the expulsion of Trevor Phillips will set back the Labour Party for years.

Shocking to see her mangle what he said to make it sound like he was saying transwomen are grotesque instead of what he did say, that it was grotesquely unfair to women, in an effort to close him down.

Indeed it was. She doesn't realise how insulting she is being by smugly assuming people will buy that disingenuous claptrap.

It's awful to watch.

And, surely, by now she must be realising that if she could have all the answers at her fingertips, she bloody well would. She's been asked enough times and must know, that there are no answers, because she's actually in the wrong.

She's been conned.

she and all the others are terrified of the tween zealots in their party arent they? I remember when I read Wild Swans that one of my abiding impressions was the pitilessness of the children and tweens in the Cultural Revolution. Of course they had been deliberately indoctrinated but it really chilled me how they were weaponised to turn on their own parents and teachers.

The woke tween TRA are that same level of pitiless - it doens tmatter what you do, its never enough. I honestly believe that if you gave them everything they demanded, they'd still come up with a new thing the older generation wasnt doing right and needed to be cast out for.

Labour is rife with them and all of the candidates are fighting to ensure they're not the ones being tied to the stake

It was shameful. And not just because she refused to answer what is a simple question

Is it fair for men to compete against women?

But because she told him to apologise for asking these questions, accused him of attacking the trans community by asking these questions and claimed he was unfairly pitting two groups against each other.

You don't need to be university educated to understand that allowing male athletes who identify as trans to compete against female athletes has the inescapable effect of pitting two groups of people against each other.

Kit19 Apt analogy. I couldn't agree with you more. Ignorance and self-righteousness are dangerous companions. These young men and their handmaidens exhibit both faults in spades. When will these young women "allies" realise they are being used?

According to a recent report "just 62 per cent of boys aged 16 to 18 said they strongly believe that girls and boys have an equal right to education". How much of an overlap is there between the remaining 38% and those joining the MRA-TRA brigade?

Lisa Nandy is toast.

Oh yeah, that was incredible. Demanding he apologise for asking questions!

And we've seen that woeful tactic a thousand times. It's nothing new to us. But people watching will be incredulous.

Kit19, you hit upon something very significant there, yes. I suspect it's due to the tween and teenage being a time when you really don't fully grasp ideas about long term consequences and mortality. There's a sort of damnable stubbornness that is no doubt a natural development stage, but when harnessed by totalitarians, becomes a powerful weapon, deployed to control.

And they all think they're motivated by compassion, when actually, they're manipulated because they don't understand what treachery actually means.

Bloody terrifying, tbh.

I expect Kevin Maguire persuaded her to go on, as he has stated he wants her to be the next leader.
I thought Kevin was strangely quiet regarding TP.
