Remember that bloke walking a woman on a lead in Glasgow?

Well...

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/dog-leash-pervert-snapped-teen-21617816.amp?__twitter_impression=true

The warped 32-year-old sex predator – who says he now 'controls' 17 women as part of a Puppyplay fetish – was previously jailed for four years for having sex with two young girls.

The 18-year-old woman pictured with him said she was aware he had convictions for paedophile offences.

Speaking in front of him, she said: “He’s not a horrible person like people are making him out to be. I forgive him for it all.”

This is just horrific. He was stopped by the police in Glasgow, but just for a chat. It appears that public fetishes are very much acceptable. Personally speaking, I think fetishes are for private not public. And I worry about that poor teenager Sad

Funnily enough I am not surprised....if he is happy to act like that in public then what is he doing in private!

Why does the article say he had sex with a 12 year old girl?
He raped a 12 year old girl.

I wonder what's gone in that young woman's life that she is prepared to forgive a man who is a convicted paedophile and, if the Record is correct, under investigation for more offences. She eats from his hand or from a dog bowl, FGS. I hope her family or friends can make her see sense. She has more worth than this.

Yes it always defined as rape when the girl is that young. Some reporters are twats

It's ironic that many Pride celebrations welcome men like this and give them an opportunity to show off and 'celebrate' this behaviour.

Vile but I do wonder (I’ve no knowledge of the law in Scotland so applying E and W law here) which law would be broken by him “walking” an adult dog-person?
Outraging public decency? Public nuisance? T’would be an interesting test case!

I read this the other day.

I'm old enough to be of a generation who laughed at Mary Whitehouse. And now I actually wonder if she was right all along. There was a time when people with fetishes like this were a subject of ridicule, and adults taught their kids to avoid 'creepy men'. Now kids are being encouraged to cosy up to them, and parents are meant to teach them not to judge. It's chilling.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g I've been in a coercive control relationship and, while I had some issues of my own, the main reason was that the man I was with was a master manipulator. He was able to slowly, slowly chip away at my self-esteem, push my boundaries and then gaslight me into thinking I had wronged him. I think of myself as a pretty balanced, strong woman but I was completely under his spell. My heart breaks for these young women as those scars never leave you.

All the muppets who were on Facebook saying "how funny, what a laugh, live and let live".

I hope they realise that people who parade their 'fetish' in public are not just a bit odd and are potentially predators.

Wake up people !

That was my first thought when reading the first post. I went to Sitges (Barcelona) on holiday last year - the gay capital of Spain. There were loads of men on collars/leads held by other men - on the sea front, in shops & bars, even in supermarkets and on the buses.

Why is it acceptable for a man to be treated like that but not a woman??

Aren't they still children?

Agree re Mary Whitehouse. She probably did a lot of damage by being the wrong image for this (middle aged woman - although at the time she seemed ancient she was probably not much older than I am now!) and by conflating a few issues. But we really need a clean out.

@definitelygc, I hope things are better for you now. So often when I read about things like this I think there but for the grace of god ...

I just looked up Mary Whitehouse. I didn’t realise that Mediawatch-UK is actually her National Viewers and Listeners Association with a rebrand. So she’s actually still with us !

I'd be equally disgusted by that to be honest.

Also, I used to think that what consenting adults did in their bedroom was no one else's business. And these days, knowing what I do about coercive relationships, I'm not even sure that I think that way any more. Someone can have consented, but like the poster upthread the only reason they have consented is because someone else has spent a long time manipulating them into consenting. The thought that there is no protection against that worries me.

Bloody grim! Going anywhere near a paedophile means the woman has either got virtually no self esteem, or is too vulnerable to be able to properly consent to the fetish, due to being a bit, well, naive.

Plus, I don't care who has what kink, but I don't want to see it. Ever. I have been into some BDSM stuff and have always laughed and walked away from men who want to humiliate women by having them eat from bowls etc. Personally, I dont think sex and humiliation should ever be bedmates as its deeply psychologically unhealthy.

And the blokes who do this to these women could do with having their kneecaps rearranged.

SirChing · 05/03/2020 08:44

By the way, I laughed at them because it's thr best way to disempower and rebuff a bloke like this. They don't try a second time. Its not that I think what they want women to do is funny. It bloody isn't. It's degrading and sick.

It strikes me that Stonewall et al got it very wrong by including a whole variety of "Queer" in with LGB when they added the T. And then compounded the error by decaring #nodebate.

I have no problem with an organisation defending the rights of same-sex attracted people. Nor one that protects the interests of the 5,000 people who went through the gatekeeping processes required to obtain a GRC, though I am not sure it needs to be the same organisation.

However some genuine predators seem to be slipping in under that wide umbrella, wth the protection and "cool" of the Stonewall, Pride et al and their corporate sponsors.

A fetishist who likes to display their fetish is an exhibitionist. Can we just stop feeding these people with the attention they crave. And be clear on societal boundaries. Children need protecting. Whether from the medical interventions promoted by Mermaids, or from blokes like this. He has no place in Pride.

So we have these chaps (always seems to be men) being welcomed into Pride events, setting up stalls, encouraging kids to come and say hello. Having photos taken with the police. All making it look everyday, friendly, fun! Why not?

And that woman needs her head seen to. ‘He’s a pedophile but always buys his round/is good to his nan/is a quiet neighbour...’ I don’t remember anyone sticking up for that revolting woman pedophile who abused small kids in the nursery. Maybe it’s a man thing.

‘He hacked his entire family to pieces with an axe - his neighbours expressed surprise and he was always such a nice man...’

He was around my area (not glasgow) before that photo was taken i dont know if it is the same woman he had on a lead but the police had been phoned a couple of times he also took her into shops. I don't understand how this can be "consensual" this girl is 18 years old how is this not coersion and grooming.

Exactly. I don’t care what anyone says; somebody who feels the need to involve unaware and consequently unconsenting people in their fetish is deeply suspect. There’s something wrong with them.
