Tatchell on OCC JR

Tatchell had a lot to say about the Oxfordshire JR on RT news yesterday and this is the safe schools alliance response to him. He said girls need to get over their embarrassment of their bodies and that big money from anti trans groups was funding the JR.

Watched the video of discussion between him and Caro. Was disgusted, creepy old man saying girls should be brought up not feel embarrassed by their bodies then they wouldn't need privacy. He's apparently talked to lots of children. Yeah young girls are definately going to confide in him.

I've never felt the same about Tatchell after his pronouncements around trans-generational sex.

I certainly set no store by his opinions around how young girls should feel about their bodies, boundaries, and right to privacy.

IMO Tatchell is a very dangerous man. He's morphed from a passionate supporter of gay rights into sleazy, seedy old man.
His words will carry weight, all those who remember how horrendous homophobia was in the U.K. will give his words credence. He was an amazing force for good in the fight for the rights for homosexual people. Although I remember thinking he went a bit too far in the forcible outing of some.
His agenda appears to have changed. Perhaps this was his long game.
Will the next step be LGBTQP and the push to have paedophilia to be recognised as a sexuality.

OP, 2fallsagain - that link you've posted is both excellent and horrifying.
Grooming, indeed.

@Absolutepowercorrupts I totally agree. I watched it and was disgusted by him. He definitely has a very questionable agenda. It's oozing out of him. Why are so few seeing it? And my god, why is he being allowed anywhere near school children?? I don't get it. He's a creepy, ageing CHILDLESS man, his intentions can ONLY be bad ones. 😡

Tatchell is a man who thinks children can have consensual, fulfilling sexual relationships.

He’s repulsive.

OldCrone · 11/02/2020 23:32

Tatchell appears to want everything to be mixed sex, because since girls can be uncomfortable about removing their clothes in front of other girls they should be encouraged to undress in front of boys as well. I don't quite follow his logic there.

Right at the end of the clip he said it's all about children being comfortable in their own bodies. I thought the usual TRA line was that if a child was uncomfortable with their body they should go down the hormones and surgery route.

Tatchell said that "we need to challenge those who feel uncomfortable, to make them feel comfortable in their own bodies, and around the bodies of others, to enable them not to feel embarrassed or threatened or ashamed".

This is just such an awful statement to make about girls' needs for boundaries and yes Caroline was absolutely spot on when she described this as grooming.

The response by Safe Schools Alliance is also spot on.

Why are trans people allowed to feel so uncomfortable with their bodies
that they're given whatever they want but teenage girls are told to just get over it and shouldn't even have the most basic privacy

He reckons old gits should fuck nine-year olds.

Report
Languishingfemale · 11/02/2020 23:40

He has views about sex ed as well - demanding that teachers should teach children classes about sexual feelings in compulsory mixed sex groups. He is absolutely determined to ensure that unwilling girls are forced into vulnerable situations with boys and men. Grim.

If a child is confused about their 'gender' it's much more likely that they're gay than trans. Transing children means fewer gay adults. Tatchell is no longer supporting gay rights. What he's supporting now is something else entirely.

Yeah. Fuck that Peter. We see you, and your "sex with 9yr olds" sleaze-letter. There's a word for men like you, Peter.

" He's morphed from a passionate supporter of gay rights into sleazy, seedy old man."

He has always had both sides to him, it was nearly 40 years ago that he contributed that article to the PIE book, he claimed

"
“”I had no idea that [Middleton] was involved in paedophilia advocacy when I was asked to write my essay. [...] When I was invited to write a chapter, I was told it was a book about children's rights and asked if I could write about the age of consent. It seemed a reasonable request at the time"

Did he not read the other articles!? Did he not wonder what the initials of Betrayal Of Youth spelled out?

It really is indicative of an arrogant sense of entitlement that Tatchell reckons the problem is with girls and their desire for 'privacy.' How does he dare think anyone has to the right to invade that privacy? How does he imagine adolescent girls are going to magically attain complete confidence in their bodies in the era of Instagram? Privacy is not an unreasonable expectation. But the idea that privacy should be breached because of the aggressive demands of an influential lobby? That defines unreasonable.

Girls are the problem????!!
Sex with 9 year olds?
Girls showing their bodies to men?

Odious sleaze...

Remember he helped close down Catholic adoption agencies who were effective in placing vulnerable children in homes leaving these children to languish in care.

The Catholic agencies wouldn’t adopt to gay couples but would refer on.

Did he bother to help gay only adoption agencies so there was equality for potential gay parents instead...No.

How many potential gay parents were helped to adopt through this policy? NONE

Just closed them down instead. Children just left in care...No concern for these high marginalised children...

Well the crowdfunder has gone up a couple of grand since we posted that thread so every cloud....

Watching it back several time's to write the thread really heightened my feelings in unease about this man. I have no idea why schools have him in. He is a patron of educate and celebrate which in itself should be a reason for schools not to use them.

The thing that terrifies me is how this is in plain sight & the press dont immediately tag anything he says with his statements about child abuse/sex with minors.

The idea that schools think he is a safe person makes me want to weep

Inclusive they say? Where are the disabled team leaders, the physically scarred, the deaf, blind, those with learning disabilities...?

Why is this type of ‘inclusion’ in schools the only game in town. A more suspicious person would think...
