ThinEndoftheWedge Sun 26-Jan-20 11:02:38

All hail JK!!

I bloody love that woman!

ThinEndoftheWedge Sun 26-Jan-20 11:04:14

@Iggypoppie
One interpretation - the rewriting of personal history and documentation to align with a later chosen identify

It must be lovely to be on such a position that stating your (quite right and fair) views will have absolutely no effect on your celebrity status and income.

Go JK

VortexofBloggery Sun 26-Jan-20 11:07:45

She could also be referring to populism and the wrong doings of someone like Trump, who despite being impeached, will no doubt be re elected next year.

Although actual art forgeries are currently in the news! https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/24/arts/design/fake-art-prints.html

GeordieTerf Sun 26-Jan-20 11:09:40

There's a fake homophobic screenshot of JK being spread around. That may be what she's referring to.

NeurotrashWarrior Sun 26-Jan-20 11:10:37

Oooooh! All hail JK!

WellHolyGodMiley Sun 26-Jan-20 11:11:06

Ha! Brilliant, love it.

LangClegsOpinionIsNoted Sun 26-Jan-20 11:12:01

All hail the queen!! Love her. Go JK!

NeurotrashWarrior Sun 26-Jan-20 11:12:03

Knowing her, it will have multiple meanings.

allmywhat Sun 26-Jan-20 11:12:19

oh apparently there was a fake screenshot of a "JK Rowling Tweet" circulating among the TRA tendency on Twitter, exemplifying their normal standards of critical thinking and scepticism.

But I do like the multifarious possible meanings of her response here. She's throwing shade.

Lottapianos Sun 26-Jan-20 11:13:04

Shes brilliant. Using her fame and platform to spread the truth

LangClegsOpinionIsNoted Sun 26-Jan-20 11:15:34

I would also like to point out that she's on the front page of the Times today because she has paid £50million in UK tax this year. She refuses to use any loop holes or off shore accounts to reduce her tax bill. The woman is amazing.

boatyardblues Sun 26-Jan-20 11:15:44

I’m not a fan of the Potter books, but my admiration and respect for JKR has grown exponentially in recent weeks.

Imnobody4 Sun 26-Jan-20 11:15:55

Plausible deniability. She's brilliant.

AutumnRose1 Sun 26-Jan-20 11:17:46

OP, what do you think she's referring to?

I have seen this this morning and am mostly just baffled.

NotBadConsidering Sun 26-Jan-20 11:17:53

It’s more important to think about why so many people believe certain falsehoods, like say for example, that sex isn’t real, than it is to try and demonstrate that sex IS real.

Totalitarianism succeeds by making people believe falsehoods and trying to convince them of the falsehood itself is very difficult. Instead we need to understand the circumstance that lead them to that point if totalitarianism is to be defeated.

nauticant Sun 26-Jan-20 11:18:10

Following GeordieTerf's post, I assume it's this fake tweet:

twitter.com/cdnza/status/1221365829503193089

Taken from this very obsessive account:

twitter.com/RacismFactory/status/1221131645199233025

nauticant Sun 26-Jan-20 11:23:46

During the last furore people were asking why JK Rowling was not suing people defaming her on twitter. It seemed obvious to me that that would be counter-productive. This one though, I could well imagine that it is over the line to be worth considering action.

Melroses Sun 26-Jan-20 11:28:18

She has just finished a Galbraith book. twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/1221129095322439680

Intriguing.

EverardDigby Sun 26-Jan-20 11:32:34

My mum and I are both reading the Strike books as a result of JK's Tweet supporting Maya, so pleased to see a new one.

BitOfFun Sun 26-Jan-20 11:32:41

Look at the mad shit she has to put up with angry.

boatyardblues Sun 26-Jan-20 11:34:27

Oh my God, the numpties posting under that manuscript tweet. What fucking planet are they on? Some people need to get off twitter and out into the real world. I’m certain the fresh air and sunlight would do them no end of good.
