Stonewall training in school

My daughters school has arranged some training for parents about LGBT issues. Apparently it is written by Stonewall. Does anyone know what this might be?

Dodgy is what it will be. Stonewall have destroyed themselves.

Stonewall have destroyed themselves.

Only in the eyes of a tiny number of people, most of whom live in an echo chamber ignoring the fact that the overwhelming majority of the LGBT community don't have an issue with Stonewall.

What age group?

Have a look on their website if you have issues express them to the staff.

Talk to your child yourself - I think JK Rowling said it best.

Put feelers out to the other parents if you can and may be you can ambush present as a group?!!

Check out the safe schools alliance, fair play for women and transgender trend websites beforehand so you are fully versed with all the issues and have actual facts and not be swayed by the technobabble.

Not sure how blatantly sexist pink/blue ginger bread brain the talk will be.

Could you report back to us??!

transgender trend

Discredited and biased schools pack featured supposed interviews in which everyone suddenly realises they were never trans in the first place. Also had to apologise after their materials sparked fears of bullying in schools. Still lied though, claiming they never intended those materials to be used in schools despite evidence emerging of them encouraging people to do exactly the opposite.

If sexuality is gender based then homosexuality cant exist. You cant teach one with out erasing the other.

Same sex attracted. Not same gender attracted.

Discredited by whom? TRAs? Have you read it? If so, can you tell us which bits are wrong? Or do you mean it doesn't tell organisation's to break the law in the way Stonewall does?

I would be very worried about Stonewall talking to my children. They are not supportive of lesbians at all and have little interest in gay men. Their focus is on transpeople and fetishists.

This is for high school. I suspect it will be focused around gender identity and want to work out how best to respond or what questions I could ask to expose some of the paradoxes/ sexism in some of this stuff. Any ideas gratefully received!
Will def. check out websites already suggested. Thanks.

Hmmm - Stonewall . I'd be asking what qualifications they have in child psychology, child development, parenting and safeguarding if they consider themselves appropriate to advise parents?
I'd also ask whether they can confirm that every person involved in any way with their education / schools / young people programmes has an enhanced DBS check?

Ask about insurance and safe guarding now that sleeping and showering in schools/residentials is now potentially mixed sex.

It's called discussion. I'm sure you agree with the forum rules that a wide range of viewpoints are welcome?

@snowblight - unless you can back up any of those serious allegations I suggest you retract them.

I would also point out that the Tavi doesn’t recommend social transition of children before they are seen by them. Automatic unquestioning positive affirmation is pushed as the only acceptable path by Stonewall. I would also mention the possible court case in Oxfordshire against such guidance to schools. What's wrong with the transgender trend advice. It follows nhs advice of watchful waiting

The affirmation therapy advocated by stonewall and other organisations is not only not best practice , but also includes keeping secrets from parents and transitioning children in school behind parents backs.
