The Pediatric Endocrine Society’s Statement on Puberty Blockers Isn’t Just Deceptive. It’s Dangerous.

Those who have been following the issue of the medical transition of children will have read pieces of this info before, but Laidlaw gathers it all together to draw a coherent and very concerning big picture.

A very clear article, laying everything out.

This has to be taken seriously now and Laidlaw calls for a moratorium on prescribing these drugs until a full and thorough investigation has taken place.

He sets out the context, both in the US and UK, here:

This is an urgent public health problem. In the United States, at least sixty-five gender clinics have sprung upp. In 2007, there was one. As many as 3 percent of school kids now identify as transgenderr. In the United Kingdom, the Tavistock’s gender clinic had a more than 5,000 percent increase in referrals of girlss* in less than a decade.

I agree with a lot of what he says.

I'm depressed that the journal publishing it comes from the Witherspoon Institute, which opposes abortion and same-sex marriage.

Why isn't he publishing this somewhere mainstream?

Maybe nowhere mainstream will touch it?

Why isn't he publishing this somewhere mainstream?

I can't overstate the extent to which the mainstream US press either 1) ignores anything to do with gender identity or 2) actively promotes gender identity ideology while implying or outright claiming that the only reason to object is bigotry and the only people to object are right-wing evangelicals.

Thanks for the clicky link, ItsAll. I always forget that quirk of the first post!
