Phalloplasty complications

This was shared on the Women's Liberation Front FB group. Suggested that it was put on Reddit but was deleted after people complained of fear mongering. No idea of the veracity, but considering what this surgery involves I would imagine it to have a high level of complications. That doctors are doing this to distressed young women is a complete travesty. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I think this list is from Scott Newgent , a FtM who is on Twitter explaining the risks and what happened to him.

Not sure if that is the right link to the right article but it's on his website The Transgender Truth.

I think if you click All Posts at the top and scroll down you should find "Phalloplasty, the wild, Wild West if transgender surgery".
It's shocking.

Ah thank you! I struggle to understand how this type of surgery is legal let alone not shunned by every right thinking person. Barbarism, these poor women.

Yes it's my account I'm scott. I took it down because of death threats and just horrible abuse. Fast forward 6 months and that stuff doesnt bother me anymore, so I'm an activist to save trans kids from med trans without wavering now. Some adults need to med trans to find peace but these people are few and far between but med tran will NEVER be a place for a child. Thanks y'all.

Hi Scott, welcome to Mumsnet, nice to have you here. Sorry you've been through so much. I presented as a boy as a kid, but that was a long time ago when none of this was an option. I worry about girls like me now so it's good you're speaking out.

Hmmm some of those are complications of major surgery, not phalloplasy per se, but phalloplasty is major surgery with unpredictable results and patient’s expectations should be managed.

I remember reading accounts of procedures attempted on burned WW2 aircrew, where new muscles were grown over many months by attaching limbs to each other in sequence and then fashioning the spare muscle into a tube. Micro surgery has speeded up the attaching part, but humans still don’t come with spare parts or optional extras.

I wish there was more compassion and less intervention.

Hi Scott! Nice to see you back again.

I really appreciated your episode of the Trans Bruh podcast.

Glad you are still speaking out, despite people’s best attempts to shut you up.

Best wishes for your on going health struggles.

A former patient of the NHS phalloplasty team (St Peter’s Andrology) has been engaged in a solo protest outside the clinic for some months. I don’t know any details but should they come across this post, thank you for trying to prevent others from suffering as you have.
