Now granted, I've not fully fleshed this idea out, but in the light of @theflushedzebra pointing out that trans activists never seem to stop giving each other awards, we should have our own virtual FWR awards for services to feminism in 2019.

As the founder of this ceremony, I expect designers will be queuing up to allow me to "wear" them.

Post your nominations below, and feel free to describe how fabulous you look at the ceremony!

My nomination for best British female solo artist goes to : Maya Forstarter for grace and clarity under considerable pressure.

I'd like to nominate Joan McAlpine for being one of the first MSPs with enough integrity to stand up for women's rights in the face of opposition and harassment. Flowers

Love this idea, I’m not sure I’m well placed to make any nominations as I’m not as well informed as others here but happily support the two nominations already mentioned!

Janice Turner. James Kirkup for another top bloke. I’m also nominating Tinsel herself, not just for what you say, but how. There should be a list of nominees for a dignified mumsnettter award, Datun, Langcleg, floralbunting, and if we include the absent, rowantrees & the berwilderness. I know I’ve missed lots but it’s not my list! Add away.

Yes yes yes to all of those; plus Barracker should get at least an honourable mention for her sterling work on FWR plus her 'prounouns are rohypnol' blog.
