It's international pronouns day. I am DONE with compelled speech and misgendering being considered a hate crime. I'm done with pressure to declare my pronouns. With pressure to be labelled 'cis'. I'm DONE with my infractions from mumsnet for "misgendering" an anonymous person with balls and a penis. I'm DONE with being politically homeless. I'm a left leaning feminist, where the fuck are the others who are left wing and want to preserve women's sex based rights? Not in any of the left wing newspapers. Not on R4 women's hour. I'm DONE with having to make "I support trans people's rights to dignity and safety" louder than "I just also want to make sure women's sex based rights aren't lost in the process" so that accusations of being a fascist bigot are quelled. BOTH are important, that's the fucking point. I'm done with being considered controversial just for being a bog standard feminist. I'm done with writing and deleting posts sticking up for myself or women, because I'm afraid that people I like and respect will block me, that mumsnet will ban me, and that my employer will find out and sack me. For sticking up for women. Not dissing trans people. Not inciting violence. Nothing-phobic. For sticking up for women. I'm done with "assigned at birth" and gender not sex on forms. I'm done with TWAW. I'm done with "End of! No debate!! End of story. FACT." being used to prevent intelligent, respectful fact based discussion. I'm done with the normalisation of "Pov if you're a terf in my mentions" violent threats. I'm done with women not being able to gather to discuss or peacefully protest without violent threats and banging on windows. I'm fucking done. What are you done with?
