Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more

They've made the decision to 'no longer work with Mumsnet' because they want to 'treat everyone equally' because of their 'values'.

By this I'm sure they mean any woman who uses this site should definitely NOT buy their products. That would be an unpleasant association between mumsnet and their values that would be too much to bear.

Here is a helpful list of their products that they don't want in any way associated with Mumsnet:

Country rock
Flora
Rama
BlueBand
Lätta
Flora Proactiv
Becel
I can't believe it's not butter

Please don't sully their brands with any association from you, you horrid mumsnetters. Your money is tainted with unacceptable values.

Flora used to be
'Flora, the margarine for men'.

Surely most Mumsnetters buy butter!

Wasn't one of their slogans "Cheating's good, Go ahead Cheat on butter?"

Thank you. I used to avoid those products because they were nasty crap, but in future I’ll avoid them because I’m officially boycotting the manufacturer.

Very helpful to know, thank you.
I try not to buy overly processed and highly manufactured food products, but this is a good additional reason to avoid this brand.

I would boycott them but as I have never heard of most of those products/brands, let alone bought any of them .......

No hardship here either, proper butter only in this house which I guess makes me even more exclusionary Grin

This thread is making crave toast with lashings of lovely butter, the fancy kind with the salt crystals.......

Has anyone ever drooled over thoughts of Flora....anyone...?

I shall continue to buy butter. Isn't MN far to middle class for their spreads? Shall have to tell my mother to stop buying Flora though if they don't want her grubby money, she struggles with drag let alone those who claim to be women all the time.

Oh dear, Flora.

The only thing your tweet suggests to me Is that whoever wrote it, is quite content to lose the custom of the 12-14 million unique users of mumsnet. Mostly women.

Your grasp of business is absolutely shocking.

Not to mention your attitude to women, your customer base.

Oh well.

WomaninBoots · 11/10/2019 15:07

Just seen it splashed triumphantly on Facebook "stop funding hate" who I'm sure I had put on snooze but has popped back up. Because women having robust opinions about biological fact is just so hateful right?

Yes real butter, on warm bread, slices of it thickly applied and sprinkled with crunchy salt. Hmmmm.

Or processed, solidified vegetable oil with additives and artificial flavours.

No contest.
