Being banned from events and stripped of their achievements? Are they talking about Mary Gregory here?

Because I can't think of may other trans athletes recently 'banned'
(though 'banned' is an interesting word here - more like, competed in the wrong sex category, found to be in the wrong sex category through normal tests, and removed from category)

I know it's a well-used example, but if I ran in a junior running championship, lifted the trophy, celebrated my win, and then they found I was not a junior. removed my trophy, and stopped me competing again...can I say I was banned and stripped of my trophy?

I guess it sounds more emotive than 'I slipped into the wrong category and got found out'?

I wish this was funnier than it is, but this is UN Women: an organisation founded to be a global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide

And with regard to the UN - Peter John Dalglish, former UN chief and UN founder of UNICEF - has been arrested in Nepal on child rape charges. To children, aged 12 and 14, were rescued from his custody. He was sentenced on Monday.

Hiding in plain sight, as we see so often - these NGOs are a hotbed for abusers.

They should ask themselves what is cheating? What’s fair competition? Why’s it worse for someone to be stripped of their achievements than for someone else- a woman- to fail, be pushed out, deterred totally from exercising or competition because acknowledging sex-based reality is unfashionable now and so everyone has to #Let Men Play (in women’s sports..)

That hashtag is so depressing. No-one is stopping anyone from playing. We just want them to play in the correct category.

People of both genders (but disproportionately women because of sport not being seen as a 'feminine' thing from late childhood onwards) are more likely to be prevented from playing/participating by lack of facilities and lack of financial support. How about the UN gets behind campaigns to make sports available in impoverished communities where facilities are scarce and those that do exist face being closed down/sold off. Oh, and promote positive action to provide women-only (by which I mean the female kind of women) and all-girl (yup, female kind of girl) taster sessions, coaching and teams, especially in economically disadvantaged areas. That might make things a bit fairer.

Sure. In the sense of 'recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.'

Sports are divided by sex, not 'gender' because humans are dimorphic. They need to be discriminating.
