I admire Julia so, so much.
The thing that screams out at me from Munroe's response:
"...it was focussed on how we can encourage children to be themselves, how we can listen to what they want to do.."
Well my 11yr old doesn't get to do everything she wants to do. Because frankly, some of it would downright inappropriate or dangerous. Like, unfettered access online. Or, just unwise, like going to a BTS concert on a school night. The answer to that was NO.
Just this morning she tells me she wants long acrylic nails. NO. She's 11. Plenty of time for all that.
Anyway, this is normalising of children doing v adult things - AKA doing what they like/"expressing" themselves. It's only a matter of time before this includes taking puberty blockers, sex hormones, and then straight on to having sex with adults. Because of course that's where this is going.
Well done Julia.
