' Binney was convicted on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor because he sexually assaulted his infant daughter so forcefully that she suffered massive internal injuries. In closing arguments Thursday afternoon, Gowdy showed jurors a graphic color photograph of the damage Binney had done to his daughter. He reminded the panel that Binney had told investigators he killed Southern because he didn’t want to go to prison as a child molester and suffer sexual abuse by other inmates. “Child molesters are weak in prison,” Gowdy said. ”(Binney) wanted to go out with a bigger bang. He wanted to go as a murderer or a rapist because they’re strong in prison.”

Prosecutors also told the jury that Binney was obsessed with child pornography and dark sexual fantasies involving children and adults. Amanda Simmons, a State Law Enforcement Division agent who conducts forensic examinations of computers, testified that she had found more than 20,000 images of adult and child pornography in Binney’s computer.'

'After hearing of Binney’s arrest, Don Thompson (Thompson), Public
Defender for Cherokee County, went to the jail to talk to Binney. Binney told Thompson that he wanted the death penalty, and Thompson told Binney not to talk to the police. Thompson met with Binney again a few days later, and Binney was still determined to get the death penalty '

'He explained that before he was tried for the CSC charge, Bannister, Binney’s lawyer at the time, told him that, if convicted, he would be sentenced to ten years, at the very least. The potential for substantial, future jail time made Binney very anxious. He went to a local shopping center and found a friend who sold him a handgun. He then went to the victim’s house and hid just off the property line and watched the house and looked for activity. Binney never met the victim before the day of the murder. He stayed in the surrounding woods overnight thinking about whether he should just go into the house “to commit suicide or rape someone, or to just shoot all of them and kill [himself].”

'The next morning, he waited until the victim and her husband left the
house and then entered the house through an unlocked window. He cut all the phone lines in the house and put kitchen knives and other possible weapons out of reach. Late that afternoon, the victim came home and found Binney in her bathroom. The victim startled Binney because he did not hear her enter the house. Binney fired the gun in her direction and then chased her out of the house. Once outside, he shot in her direction again to “keep her scared and running” and then ran in the opposite direction into the woods. He ran home and hid under his house, where he was later found by police. In his June 14 statement, Binney requested that he be given the death penalty: “the crime I committed definitely warrants it.”

Anyway, suffice to say after raping his daughter & murdering a woman with the intent to be executed, he's had a change of heart and is now a transwoman called Taylor Alex Cross, and has won a reprieve from the death penalty.

www.gaffneyledger.com/articles/convicted-murderer-gets-reprieve-from-death-sentence/

'Through a written contract signed by multiple parties, Binney/Cross agreed to never again appeal the 2002 murder conviction or punishment if sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Binney/Cross also agreed never to seek parole, even if state law is later changed.'

'Reflecting that Binney/Cross identifies as transgender and given the legal name change, defense attorneys used ink pens to correct the typed legal contract between “The State of South Carolina and Taylor Alex Cross, aka Jonathan Kyle Binney” to change all references of “he” to “she.”'

Never happens. Did you misgender her? Nothing to see here.

I don't agree with the death penalty, so can't get worked up about the reprieve.

Which prison is Cross / Binney being held in?

Words fail me. Another woman's crime.

Worst another rapist allowed to further rape woman by putting it on as if it was a cloak.

Raspists and those attacking women should never be given the right to change their legal sex status. Under no circumstances.

"Jonathan Kyle Binney, 44, now goes by the name Taylor Alex Cross following a court-approved name change"

why was he allowed to change his name? He killed a woman to double down on a rape of a baby girl. Allowing him to to now assume a female identity is an insult.

People facing death would never pretend to be something that they are not in order to avoid death.

Never happens.

This is really odd. The psychologist at the original crime doesn't mention gender incongruence. Surely it would have come up then?

Maybe this utter peice of shit just wants to be near women again.

Do the sexual disorders include AGP?

I don't agree with the death penalty either. But surely the point is, why is a sentence judged fair and just for a man who committed a terrible violent crime suddenly commuted so drastically because that man suddenly announces he's trans?

Why is that man who committed a terrible violent crime against two females now being pandered to in all directions as if he is a female?

Why is no one mentioning the obvious, massive incentive for violent sex offenders to put on woman like a Teflon shield to open the door to all kinds of pandering and special treatment, and how utterly and revoltingly disrespectful and dismissing this is to actual women?

So yes. I can definitely get worked up.

My friend who works in a prison for vulnerable males tells me the issue isn’t that TW get raped in prison. It’s that they sell sex in prison.

Why is that a problem?

I mean, I am as anti prostitution as the next feminist, but if you are sure no coercion takes place, then poverty can't be the reason, seeing as prison is one of the few places where everyone has everything they need for life. (Except for women who aren't given adequate hygiene products, but that's another problem)

So ... it is more likely to be as consensual as it gets than most prostitution outside in the real world.

But surely the point is, why is a sentence judged fair and just for a man who committed a terrible violent crime suddenly commuted so drastically because that man suddenly announces he's trans?

Indeed, why?
There's more and more parallels becoming apparent between becoming trans and finding Jesus.
Both apparently wash away all previous sins.
(Except that finding Jesus at least makes it somewhat more likely taht someone repents their crimes, et cetera)

SC is hardly a hotbed of 'woke' thinking re, well, anything, so, I suspect this commutation has very little to do with the prisoner's trans status and most everything to do with the fact SC can't get hold of the drugs needed to carry out executions by lethal injections any more. There have been several commutations there in the last year or so.

I wouldn't advise any future killers and child rapists to relax too much though, last I heard the legislature were exploring reviving the electric chair and introducing firing squads to execute death row convicts.

How can you be certain ‘prostitution’ in prison is any less coerced than outside? It’s not like anyone being pimped out can run away and if they report it to the prison authorities they are likely to be killed.

It’s a problem because it leads to a lot of emotional drama that sometimes erupts into violence

It seems overly harsh to enforce celibacy if they can find willing partners, but I do see your point ... must be horrible for your friend to be made an unwiling witness to those men's sex lives.

Though if you separate trans prisoners from the general prison population, won't they just have sex with each other? Confused

I’m 100% in favour of the death penalty in certain open and shut cases and this would be one of them.
