"
❤️Jane Austen was a Super Plus fan, Lizzie preferred a Mooncup + Emma didn't leave Hartfield without her Thinx. But some bleeders in the UK can't afford sanitary products, imagine the scandal at the ball!💃🏽 Donate to @bloodygood__ this Festive Period & help someone's #flowhoho❣️"

Very disappointing. I can't believe we are back in the Middle Ages so comprehensively.
And no, using 'bleeder' is not "more inclusive" because it includes trans men. It is massively, massively reducing women to a (distasteful and historically considered 'impure') bodily function.

Can I start referring to men as "standuppissers"?

You can call them ejaculators. Or Jizzers.

Trying to imagine Jane Austen's face at being described as a "bleeder"

When you try to reverse this ie, a trans man wants to be called a bleeder to be inclusive, all handmaids women accept being a bleeder etc it doesn't happen the other way. 'TW' with no surgery won't accept ejaculator or stand up pisser. It's women end of.

It's just a massive appropriation.

Funny how defining “woman” as “adult human female” is “dehumanizing” and “reducing people to their genitals” but calling women “bleeders” (or “uterus bearers” or “vagina havers” etc) is not.

Funny dat.

Ugh. Apart from what the OP said, did it not occur to them that the primary definition of 'bleeder' in U.K. dictionaries is 'a person regarded with contempt or pity'.

I also think of leeches.

Bleeding heart liberal.

The flippant tone of the tweet is almost as bad as the "bleeders".

Period poverty! Ain't it hilarious...

Awful.

"WE GOT A BLEEDER!!!"

ER.

It's just got no positivity.

Bleeder (Noun)

Definition: A person you feel annoyed with or sorry for

Children? I can't stand the little bleeders!
He's got to have another operation, the poor bleeder.

Oh this makes me sad. I rather like Cariad on the radio.

Report
Neurotrash · 10/12/2018 14:48

Dunno who they are but I reckon they've read too much thinx.

Report
AssassinatedBeauty · 10/12/2018 14:53

The organisation that Cariad is promoting seem allergic to the words women and girls. They seem to use "babe(s)" all over the place, where you would ordinarily use woman/women. Odd.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/12/2018 14:57

Babes don't have periods. Only women and girls who've reached puberty do.

Lovely to see yet more hyper sexualisation of young girls. Babes.

"Oi ya little bleeder!"

What next? Maybe they'll call us toe rags or squirts next.

Charming.

Sooo what was that TRAs always say... 'you're reducing women to biology'?

There are few things quite so satisfying as seeing someone rightfully handed their arse on a plate, however. And that Twitter thread's a masterclass in handing someone their arse on a plate.

I'd hate to be in a position where I cannot afford sanitary produces and to be called a 'bleeder' and have to deal with 'flowhoho' Sad.

It does nothing towards respect and dignity.

Do trans men actually want to be called bleeders, though? Has anyone asked, or is this another example of koolaid rightthink? I think if I was dysphoric that's the last thing I'd want to be called.

Report
gendercritter · 10/12/2018 16:39

It's such an offensive term!

Report
TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 10/12/2018 16:40

How the actual fuck is 'bleeder' more respectful and more inclusive of the gender-dysphoric than 'women and transmen' would be?
