3 strikes and you're out

Sorry to start this thread but I'm livid. I'm beyond livid to be fair.

I'm now on strike two and have been warned my posting privilege is at risk.

The reason for this thread is; please don't take the new guidelines at face value. I got a strike today for calling a man who presents as a woman a name NOT on the banned list. Obviously now I can't say what it was, I am effectively gagged.

I now have six weeks of no free speech until the strikes I have are wiped - again effectively gagged.

So, you won't see me much as I will NOT refer to men who present as women as the names we are allowed to call them, so will end up banned. I will post bland banal comments that can't offend any sensibilities here and let rip elsewhere where free speech is encouraged.

PLEASE, please, watch your words or MN will use this as a reason the close the FWR board.

Its ridiculous. Why all the censorship over trans preferred names, there's not this level of gagging over any other group.

What if 'flat earthers' start getting offended, will they insist that we all agree the earth is flat next to avoid offending their reality? Hmm

oh no! I love your posts.

I don't recognise anyone with a penis as a woman.

I don't want anyone with a penis;
Or who previously had one, in women's spaces, on women's short lists or any other countermeasures against institutional sexism.
MNHQ is silencing and gaslighting us.

If I'm silenced then so be it but I stand with you OP.

Oh that's ridiculous. Could you appeal the decision as the word wasn't on the banned list? Flowers

CosmicCanary · 18/06/2018 13:44

Oh shit.

Sorry spont.

I also refuse to call men women.
I am just going to stick to male and female.
I would imagine using those will get me banned but I cannot bend to the will of the patriachy.

Where is this banned list? I've just had a look in site stuff and feminism and can't see it

I have just asked on another thread in site stuff if mumsnet can make a sticky for the top of feminism chat that gives the rules.

Whether you agree with them or not mumsnet has been invaluable in informing people like me and thousands of lurkers what's going on so I hope posters like spontaneous can find a way to stay.

Hi everyone.

Weird the other thread got locked. Or did it just hit post limit?

Report
Weezol · 18/06/2018 14:00

Solidarity.

I reported the unfriendly ghost, for the infertility comments, persistent @ing and insulting Justine and MN staff by saying they were anti-trans and happy to host transphibia.

My email and checking the thread shows three deleted posts in less than 24 hrs, one of which was unequivocally a breach of the new rules. Does that mean ghost will have posting suspended?

What about cunty women and girls?
When are our feelings heard?

Report
AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 14:01

Apparently not. Maybe trans activists get extra lives.

I will not be engaging with ghost on any thread, ever. Same with other derailers.

I don't know, I did receive an email from the mod team. Whilst they didn't agree with everything I said, they did agree with some. Nor did I agree with everything in the email. Honestly I think they just responded because I was brigaded for the most part.

spontaneousgiventime · 18/06/2018 14:07

Any engagement with people who present in the opposite gender is going to get us into trouble. They goad and goad and goad and we get banned. Ghost can fuck off!

Thanks for the support everyone, feeling very lost right about now.

@MNHQ are you able to confirm if your new (vague) talk guidelines also apply to those who are not gender critical?

I have no idea wtf is going on.

I have had no emails, and I can't find any deletions, but I (for only the second time in 17 years - last time was post-Jeffrey) can't log in.

If I'm a banned poster, I'd love to know.

I have had to re-register, with a new email address, so presumably I'm now a sockpuppet if I post on any of the threads I was on yesterday.

Maryzsnewaccount I had problems logging on too. I clicked on advanced search and the log on screen came up that way. I couldn't log on as usual.

For anyone who may be confused, people reporting a commenter for saying unkind things about infertile women and twisting what other people were saying is not brigading. Tons of trans activists coming to this site with the intent of shutting down conversations? That's brigading.

This has been your hourly edition of Words Mean Things.

GhostTess

I was briefly on the thread you refer to (which is closed because it has reached the maximun capacity of 1000 posts.

I would like to make this comment:

I was diagnosed with gyny cancer during treatment for fertility issues.

The total hysterectomy that I had was neccessary to save my life.

I am both an infertile woman and a woman without a uterus, cervix, ovaries (and a few other parts of my anatomy.)

My (male) partner and I will both be unable to be parents as a consequence. We share this sadness.

The specific consequences for me with regards the medical intervention are uniquely female.

I find it upsetting and uncivil when this is appropriated with so little empathy.

Sorry to hear the news, Spontaneous. That is truly sad.

I will not be engaging with ghost on any thread, ever. Same with other derailers.

My philosophy is "don't get in the mud with the pig. You'll only get dirty and the pig will enjoy it".

(No offence meant to pigs, who are clever animals.)
