Most positive thing I've seen for a very long time.

I salute Gavin Shuker.

The report categorically proves that the tiny percentage of men (3.6%) who buy sex are lining the pockets of traffickers.

So glad there is a pushback against the pernicious brothel and sex traffickers lobby

Thank you, Gavin Shuker and colleagues. Well done. I hope you can now get parliament to act on this report.

A minority of UK men who pay to sexually access women’s bodies are driving this form of modern-day slavery. To end the exploitation and trafficking we must criminalise paying for sex

Yes!

So when the Nordic model is used, men stop buying sex. Common sense really, women are people, not things. Criminalise the male punters, decriminalise the women.

The most recent study on sex buying in Sweden, the first country to adopt this ‘end demand’ approach, found 0.8 per cent of men in Sweden had paid for sex in the previous 12 months - the smallest proportion recorded in two decades and the lowest level in Europe.

Ah, another brand new poster. Is there some sort of bat signal that attracts these shills for the pimp industry as soon as anyone mentions the Nordic model?

Please crawl back under your rock.

Once again, thank you to Gavin and the APPG for this hard work on their part.

Hope this is taken seriously.

And the article simply states trafficking happens but gives no evidence of the extent of it

It states it's happening 'on an industrial scale'. Would be helpful to have the data, but I do hope you're not implying that there is some acceptable size for this vile trade in women's bodies?Hmm

Amnesty has been the victim of an "entryist" takeover - their policy on prostitution in the UK was written by a self-avowed pimp (who disingenuously describes himself as a sex-worker, but his only "sex-work" seems to be taking a generous cut from the women in his employment).

Out of interest, new poster, what skin do you have in this game? Are you a pimp or a punter by any chance?

This is what happens when you go down the complete decriminalisation route, as Germany has. The stigma of being a low-life who uses prostitutes disappears, demand outstrips supply (because there really aren't that many "happy hookers" out there), trafficking sky-rockets, and you end up with poor and desperate women giving blow-jobs on the streets of Hamburg for the price of a big Mac.

This is the reality of the industry GoPrawn is pushing. The industrial sexual abuse of women.

Website for the APPG here appgprostitution.uk

From this site:

Evidence obtained by the APPG on Prostitution, published in the report ‘Behind closed doors: organised sexual exploitation in England and Wales’, reveals there are at least 212 active, ongoing police operations in the UK into modern slavery cases involving sexual exploitation. It is also overwhelmingly foreign national women who are being exploited in British brothels:
• Leicestershire police visited 156 brothels, encountering 421 women, between 1st January 2016 and 31st December 2017. 86% of the women in the brothels were Romanian.
• Northumbria Police visited 81 brothels between March 2016 and April 2018. Of the 259 women they encountered in the brothels, 75% were from Romania. Over half of the brothels were recorded as being connected to other brothels, agencies or non- UK Organised Crime Groups.
• Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have identified 324 potential new brothel addresses since March 2015. GMP report that “the majority of those identified reflect the hotspot areas for modern slavery in Greater Manchester.”

I can see the WHO supports decriminalising the sex workers, but I couldn't find anything saying that buyers and pimps shouldn't be criminalised.
