I noted from the LBC debate, JOB wasn't happy about man given feminist labels, he wanted to divide and conquer feminists by sub categorisation. Keep going with "I am a feminist". It worked. OJ and TRAs try to divide and conquer too.

"The notion that female willfullness threatens society quickly surfaced in times of crisis"

"The polarity of gender and polarity of good and evil were, perhaps unconsciously aligned"

Witchcraft a very short introduction

Malcolm Gaskill

At times of austerity and fear of the world ending - in early modern Europe - there were the highest number of witch trials.

The other thing I noted was that DrRadFem was holding a lesbian meeting, a Tory male MP hosted. #ManFriday was organised by a married woman accompanied by her middle-class class husband. James Kirpkup started writing about and supporting Jennifer James. These women were no longer seen as running around out of the control of men, so the wider press took notice.

All very interesting points!

The social and cultural context that creates the boiling pot for these anti women/loopy phases in history fascinates me, very interested to hear that austerity is an identified factor.

It's a short read and available on Kindle.

Not much money for refuges as it is. The anger at trans women wanting to take those precious places and cause upset.

TIMs feeling sorry for themselves, wanting validation and not bothering to set up their own specialist services are supported to gatecrash due to austerity. There just isn't the sympathy from those of us who have supported these women or been in need of the services. TIMs, men and those without understanding just don't get why TIMs aren't wanted in these spaces.

There are also comments in the book about the rise in capitalism.

Society really doesn't want woman loose in society, saying no and out of the control of men. They think TIMs will keep us down.
