Just wanted to plug this meeting. With the Labour Party NEC expected to announce on self-ID next Saturday, this is a very timely meeting. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-womans-place-is-a-sanctuary-tickets-42945249397

I'm very interested but not sure what to expect - has anyone been to anything similar? Will I be out of my depth if I'm not very clued up on the issue?

I really want to go, I think it might just be feasible on the train, unless anyone else is going from Cheltenham and could offer a lift and split the petrol. In which case please pm me.

The London one was brilliant - a real sense of solidarity and an amazing atmosphere. Absolutely no need to feel any pressure to contribute to the debate so no reason to feel out of your depth.

And actually the Mumsnet crowd got lots of cookies pom bears mentions so we felt well centred Grin

Charlie - I'm Cheltenham and would live to go but just thinking of the races might be a nightmare on the train

CharlieSierra · 10/03/2018 21:41

Mrsladybird I totally forgot, or more probably blanked it out of my mind such is the horror of getting about on my side of town during the races. Unfortunately I think it's a no go for me, I've got a busy day too and couldn't finish work very early.

I'm interested, but also haven't been to anything like this before - is turning up on my own going to be something lots of others are doing too?

I really want to go but like a PP I fear I may not be 'clued up enough'. Will also be travelling on my own.

Report
theaveragewife · 11/03/2018 17:41

I don’t think you need to be clued up...I’m going to listen more than talk, also on my own!

Report
DebbieInBirmingham · 11/03/2018 18:33

Don't worry about being clued up. We are all learning together. :-)

I have a male friend who is very concerned about this.

Are there likely to be other men there? I'm intemding to go and he'd like to come too if that's ok.

I’m coming along. We don’t have a venue announcement yet, do we?
It would be good to meet in advance if possible, so we don’t have to arrive together, but I’m aware we need to be a bit careful.

Gingernaut · 11/03/2018 20:35

Going too.

I've no idea where it is, mind......

I'm going, I am really looking forward to hearing from the speakers.

No venue announcement as far as I know.

anna231a · 11/03/2018 20:41

I would like to meet up beforehand, if possible, and go in with another person/group.

Report
MaximumVolume · 11/03/2018 20:46

Of course, I meant “so we don’t have to arrive on our own” or “so that we can arrive together”. I came across a bit antisocial, there! Grin
